Very enjoyable stay, friendly host and great staff. Clean, comfortable en-suite bedrooms Good meals 3x a day

The host Bruno makes this hotel a delight. He is so friendly, and goes out of the way to make you feel welcome. The food is all home cooked, and really delicious. There is a choice of two warm swimming pools and wifi. Great to spend a few relaxing days, or as a base for something more exciting. My daughter (7) cried when we left. We will definitely return.

Amazing castle-like experience. We were lucky enough to have the whole place to ourselves for the first two nights. The owner was away and we knew this in advance as he emailed us, however, his staff went out of their way to help us in every way. My mother is mobility challenged and the room I booked would have been too difficult for her. At no extra price he made arrangements for another room that could be reached after only a few stairs and close to where we parked. The grounds are amazing and we had our choice of where we wanted to eat. We ate breakfast and dinner here each day and the food was wonderful. The location is about 15-20 minutes from the beach/town, depending on what car you drive. You definitely need transport to stay here. We had a normal car and therefore had to take the unpaved road very slowly, so it would be faster if you had a 4 x 4.

Great place to stay. Great staff. Great view. Very relaxing. It is out of town so you need ideally a car but I guess not a must. I recommend it 100 percent.

We booked this beauty so we could get some much needed chill time after the madness of Marrakech & the shopping we did in Essaouria's medina. We loved being near the coast so much in Essaouria we were almost sad to leave there & begin our journey to Villa Gonatouki up and away in the rural pastures. But we were even sadder to leave there! It's gorgeous! Beautifully & interestingly decorated. And that infinity pool. As soon as you walk in the door you see that infinity pool stretching out ahead of you. It was the most welcoming sight! Bruno was away so the delightful Philippe looked after us. And she was so so helpful & friendly. We ate in the villa for our 2 night stay & the food was spectacular! We loved doing the hammam (you do the treatments yourself but after having a few pro ones, I found that pretty fun!). I also opted for a relaxation massage - and that was pretty much the best decision I made ever. It was fantastic! So relaxing. The pools are gorgeous, we loved playing and hanging out with the friendly dogs (we are so jealous of their very lovely home life!). It's good if you can speak a bit of French here, I could understand but couldn't speak to well but Phillippe was very helpful translating. In conclusion, I cannot recommend this place enough. If you need a break and a rest. This is the place to get away from it all.

It was my first trip to Morocco, and I also invited my mother along. Bruno and his tea have been very helpful in organizing everything for us, and giving us contacts, information, directions and suggestions. When it comes to the Riad itself - it's very special what they built over there... So private yet easy to reach, so exclusive yet relaxed, so luxurious yet without any opulence. I am already looking forward to my next trip to Gonatouki!

WOW....after a few nights in Marrakech, this was a dream come true. The Villa is stunning and filled with so many nooks and crannies that you can explore for a while before settling down at the pool. Bruno was away, but Sarah was there to run the show and she was EXCEPTIONAL. All the ladies that run the house are lovely and work HARD. The only issue we had was that a few of the nights were extremely hot, and there were no spare fans / AC. I will return in the future!

Beautiful villa in a quiet location, perfect for relaxing, doing very little and sitting by the pool. Amazing staff who go the extra mile to ensure your comfort and great food, they even made me a birthday cake!

This hotel was a lovely place to relax after 4 nights in the heart of Essaouira. We were warmly welcomed by Bruno and his fabulous team; Bruno was incredibly helpful throughout our stay and making sure we were comfortable and could feel at home. The room was spacious, clean and thoroughly equipped! We ate our dinners and lunches here, and were very pleased we did! The food was a wonderful surprise each time with a variety of typical moroccan meals and excellent value for money. The 2 pools were clean and the perfect place to chill out by with views of the coast. Overall a fantastic villa to relax and enjoy.

“R and R at the Villa Gonatouki” After a bumby ride down a un-made road we arrived at Villa Gonatouki. A superb looking property. We were greeted by our host Bruno who made us feel very welcome. We were given a tour of our Home for the next four nights. All is well here with superb traditional food home cooked, comfortable accommodation along with a host of other pleasurables including swimming pools, Hot room, Spa treatments to include one of the best Tonic Massage ive had and staff who are on hand to provide us with a host of drinks, cake and homemade biscuits. Views as far as the eye can see. Thank you to all the team and to Bruno for being available and for the warm welcome we received. ask the team about the hand made shoes /sandles. Our stay was relaxing and comfortable. We will return . Stayed June 2015
