Haus Sonnheim

Very comfortable for two people. The kitchen is a full working kitchen with everything you need to cook meals. Nice view overlooking trees across the street. Comfortable bed. Has a storage room for skis/boards and drying room for ski boots. Also has a small lift however there are a set of steep stairs at the front. There is a washing machine but it’s coin operated. Owner is very nice and location is good - about a 15 min walk from train station and into town but the green line free bus stops just up the street. Wifi is fast and place is very warm. We didn’t need to use the heating at all and in fact had some windows open at night even in mid January. We really enjoyed our stay. Balcony is very nice and I believe is larger than it looks in the photos. We would stay here again.

Stairs at front made it difficult to get heavy bags up and down. Washing machine is communal and coin operated and instructions only in German so couldn’t use so we ended up washing a few items in the sink and using heated towel rails to dry in bathroom. We were there almost two weeks and didn’t get any servicing or fresh linen. We got some fresh towels after asking. I think if guests are staying more than a week a mid stay clean and fresh linen should be provided. I would suggest a small booklet be written for guests to provide info re things like where the garbage bins are and where the bus line is etc - that would be very useful

Plenty of room for a studio apartment. Much nicer than many we have stayed in the past. Well stocked kitchen, friendly and responsive host, wonderful view of the Matterhorn and Glacier Paradise mountain area.

Amazing view out the window, lovely touch with Swiss chocolates to welcome us and the Christmas themed decor during our December stay. Spacious, very clean, light and airy. Kitchen fully equipped with oven, dishwasher, stove, fondue set and crockery etc. Great location and will definitely be staying again if we visit Zermatt in the future. Handy having access to the washing machine - bring your own laundry detergent.

Insufficient toilet paper was provided for the length of our stay, so we had to buy our own. I would suggest providing additional rolls in case guests require it, particularly for longer stays.

A excellent location, with an east facing balcony above the river on the south (upper) end of town; you hear the river and the sun rises in your window. And has a kitchen.

Best to write the owner prior to arrival asking how to get in, because otherwise you'll have to figure it out. There is a coin operated laundry room that you can find.

Beautifully appointed apartment with a well equipped kitchen, pleasant balcony area overlooking the river, comfortable bed with the typical flat pillows we've encountered throughout Europe. Washing machine located downstairs, short walk to the restaurants in Zermatt village and very conveniently located next to the main gondola and nearby hiking trails. No view of the Matterhorn from inside the apartment but you can see it from right in front of the building. It was very helpful that all the relevant maps for both walking trails and getting around the village are provided for your convenience.

We didn't know that laundry area was in the building until our last day as it wasn't written in English anywhere, would've been great to know earlier but not a huge deal.

Bright and spacious room with a terrace facing the Matterhorn. Excellent location, close to the main lift and walking distance to the train station. Having a kitchen was convenient, and laundry is available on the second floor (I had some trouble finding the laundry room, but the host responded right away with detailed information). I was there in the summer, so I am not sure about ski access to the hotel, but proximity to the lift is a great convenience. Highly recommend.
