Murphy's River Lodge

Spent 2 amazing nights at Murphy’s River Lodge in our little “home” right on the river! The room was incredible - full kitchen, living room, fireplace, and a patio! The Lodge is in a great location - just steps away from town with everything you could ever need! Staff was awesome and had SO many great tips for exploring the area! We will definitely visit again! Thanks for everything!

Murphy's was an absolute gem. The location allowed us to walk or take the trolley everywhere we needed to go. The room was clean and had every amenity a guest could want. The staff were extremely friendly. I particularly liked the easy to follow signage that helped us find everything we needed, such as the ice machine, the pool and hot tob, and the breakfast room. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a homey, comfortable, perfectly located hotel. Kudos!

Great location. The atmosphere was amazing. Loved we could bring our fur babies. The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff was so friendly and helpful.

We loved our stay at Murphy’s River Lodge!!! The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were incredibly friendly, you can’t get much closer to downtown Estes, and we were able to bring our dog on her first adventure! We’ll be back!

This was my second stay here, after my friend (who has stayed here with her family for years) and I visited a few years ago. This time, I brought my family. What I love about this place is that it's family owned and you can tell they adore their property. It isn't the newest, swankiest, nicest place in the area, but it's an easy walk into town, offers a pool, simple breakfast and is minutes from RMNP. The upper lodge river room was perfect for our family of three - my teen loved sleeping on the couch while the king bed was comfy for my husband and I. It met my cleanliness desires, but for a stain just outside the sliding back door on the outdoor carpet. The outdoor furniture needs updating though - the thin wood Adirondack style chairs were worn and had bird poo on them. The highboy table and chairs were plastic and looked more like kid toys - and weren't very sturdy. Too bad, because we really wanted to sit out on our balcony! We opted to keep the door open, even in the cool lower-40s overnights for the fresh air and calming sounds of the river. We enjoyed the DVD collection in the office and DVD player in the room for evenings in. We didn't use the gel-fuel fireplace since it was warm during the day. We saw elk laying along the river outside as well! The pool is decent, though the hot tub could use some TLC. The staff were all kind, especially when I asked about stairs that were apparently between our upper room and room below. We still weren't 100% sure that's where all the banging/running was coming from, but 2 of our 3 nights there, we had that sound for hours on end, luckily not too late at night. Overall, this was a great family spot, in prime location and at a good price. I wouldn't hesitate to book again.
