Michelle is an excellent host. From the moment we arrived, she welcomed us with a warm smile and kindly showed us around the property, making us feel right at home. To our surprise, she even upgraded our accommodation at no extra cost, which we truly appreciated. The place itself was comfortable, well-kept, and exceeded our expectations. Michelle’s hospitality and thoughtful touches made our stay a memorable one, and we would happily recommend her place to anyone looking for a pleasant and stress-free experience.

My mistake for not double checking. My preference is a room with at least a fridge. Lodges obviously just have a communal kitchen area. Other than that, because it’s an old building there isn’t any soundproofing and could hear the other people staying there. Worst though? The smoke detector in my room relentlessly beeped throughout the night. Obviously the battery had not been replaced and the ceiling was too high for me to reach it. The owner did text me on 11 August to say she would refund me via Booking dot com. As at 10 September no sign of it.

It's a beautiful historic building and nice hosts. Beautiful communal lounge and amazing communal kitchen. As a solo female traveler it's hard to make use of these communal spaces at times. It is easier in a backpackers where many people are on their own and it's a hive of activity you don't feel in spotlight. When i arrived there was a man and woman having loud conversation in kitchen area which I could hear clearly from my adjacent room and it put me off going in to make food. Also arriving at night and not knowing area would have been nice if there were amenities there for purchase. Also please supply real milk! I think this is an excellent place for a group to stay. Less so for single traveler

Night manager was so friendly and made me feel at home. Showed me all the beautiful facilities.

The Room was clean and tidy the staff were helpful and courteous and contacted us once thy realised we had left a phone charger behind.

We stayed for a long weekend with some friends and the size of the lodge worked perfectly for our large group. The large kitchen particularly was ideal. Some rooms have good beds but the singles aren’t comfortable and the furniture in the lounge worked ok but is old and needs replacing. The hostess was very helpful through out the booking process and during our stay. Would recommend for a large group.
