Seoul Rex Hotel

hotel is very old dark and gloomy . should have stayed in a newer hostel or guesthouse.

Really dated hotel, when you get into room it feels you are in an American TV series of the 70s. Staff was very nice and helpful, and the room (Deluxe) was huge, but the owners should really consider to revamp the place because otherwise they gonna be in trouble in The near future!

Very helpful staffs, convince to walk around big shopping mails, restaurants, money exchange and about 10 minutes walking to Seoul station.

In my way ball from jeju island I stayed at Rex hotel,and it was great, right in the middle of everything. Shopping malls, like lotte mall,shansenage mall and great markets. Loved it all they had to offer

Loacation strategic, near to Hoehyeon Line 4 subway station. Walking distance to Shopping area, Namdaemun market, Myeong-dong and near by high end shopping mall. Hotel air condition not function well, very warm at nigh during summer season. Free internet wifi connection from room.

We arrived Seoul and stayed in a hotel which is too small for us we then find Rex hotel nearby, Rex hotel is not the newest hotel but has got comfort and it is clean, affordable . It has standard room space as we travel around in many places. We like the location most and it is so convenient, little shops and restaurants are all around. There is a porridge restaurant I like most. It is just round the corner . There is also bbo bbo chicken nearby are very good. If we are going back to Seoul we will go back to Rex hotel.

Rooms are a bit shabby, with holes in the bedclothes and generally dowdy. However everything worked and the shower was good. Reception areas are gloomy but staff helpful. Soundproofing awful - a group of schoolchildren was staying the first night and not only giggled but banged doors constantly going into each others rooms. A bit of a shock after Japan and they only stopped when I complained to reception at 2am. Close to tube station and some reasonable restaurants.

The air conditioner didn't work. The only way I survived the temperature was because I just happen to have a smoking room so I opened the window even though I wasn't ok with keeping the curtains open all night. The carpet was dirty, one of the lamps didn't work, and the remote needed new batteries. While it was worth the low price, I wouldn't stay there again. It reeks of much needed upgrades. The staff was friendly as they could be. Didn't speak much English but that wasn't expected. No airport shuttles, no help with getting taxis with such heavy bags. All they did was point me in the direction of the bus about a mile away. They do have room service and continental American breakfast but it is expensive. 18,000 won just for one person.

It's a well situated hotel with lots of shops and restaurants close to it. Staff are friendly and helpful. Bedroom every day cleaned with efficiency. Air conditioning all the time on when is needed. A big screen to watch korean freeview and a high speed wifi for individual bedrooms. Basically nothing to complain. Hope everyone can enjoy same as me this nice hotel ;)
