Seoul Rex Hotel

front desk crews are eager to help but most does not speak English. they turn off the airconditioning at the lobby early in the evening but our room airconditioners works okay.Our toilet drainage got clogged twice but their maintenance was quick to remedy the situation.

stayed * nights Sept 2015, had some plumbing problems but they fixed the prob before we returned to our room.This was our 2nd trip to Seoul and we are schedule to return in sept again yes staying at Rex the room was large I love the window seat huge closet only issue i had was no wash cloth so we will bring our own this trip.

Would definitely stay at Seoul Rex Hotel again. Staff are very welcoming and the location of the hotel is in Hoehyeon-dong which right on Line 4 of the subway system! The room itself is very comfortable and quiet as well.

We stayed this hotel in March 16. It is very close MRT then convenient for you to get every where in the city. Room is a little old but very clean and fresh bath towels. Front desk staff is very helpful and full with smiling. There are some restaurants next door with reasonable price. Finally, we recommend this hotel for travellers.

We stayed this hotel in March 2016. It is very close MRT. Hotel is a little bit old but very clean.Many convenient shop and cheap restaurant locate around a short walk from hotel. Staff are nice and helpful. Wifi is speed ! Recommend this hotel for travellers.

We hung a 'Do Not Disturb' sign outside the room. At the end if day,we found a carrier bag with clean towels. The housekeeping is showing thoughtfulness, something which no other hotel would have done. On the last night, the wifi was down. The staff took immediate action to rectify the issue. Though the wifi did not seem to be working for the next 1 hour, but do appreciate the effort they have put in.

Hotel rating is overated given its current state of condition. It has long past its glorious peak, hotel location is good and worth commendation, in between Myeongdong and Seoul stations. Opposite the hotel is Namdeman. There are few 24 hours convenience stores (including one local family run store) and eateries around. Walking distance to many places, if you are willing to walk. Hotel is dated with musky smell and heavywooded furniture, staff are not exactly foreigner friendly. The corridors are dimly lited. Room size is good, but everything else remains in 70s or 80s. A perfect set for filming horror movie. Shower curtain has turn mouldy and yellow. No bath mat or anti-slip mat provided in the bathroom and bath tub. Hot and cold water pressure is good. In-room slippers appear disgusting. There are only 2 usable power sockets in the room (which requires adapter that you can borrow from front desk with a 5,000 won refundable deposit). No in-room safe provided, valuables are to deposit with front desk. No air-conditioning available in the room, only warm air. You have to open the window to let cold air in. Staff will bring you a fan if you find it warm. My room heater was down when we check in, staff took almost an hour to resolve. The control panel buttons are falling apart. Air-conditioning is only available at lobby. Hotel lift cannot take more than 5/6 persons together, the overload warning will come on. There are pimps around the hotel in the evening soliciting, they only approach male travellers. Rex Hotel do not provide toothbrush or toothpaste. == General Note == Most Korean hotels do not provide toothbrush and toothpaste (some do give toothpaste though). Most places including public transport are not elderly or disabled friendly. Good if you can speak some Mandarin, you have higher chance of communicating with a Korean who can speak Mandarin. English is not widely understood compared to Mandarin.

Dark corridors, dirty looking beige bed sheets, no-working bed side lamb, etc. etc.

I was stayed at Seoul Rex Hotel in Nov 10-13, 2015. It's totally satisfied with the room, bed, bathroom etc. The most exciting things is, the location is the most highlight and convenience to anywhere, anything. Its' walking distance to subway (3 mins) 7-11 (5 mins) starbucks (5 mins) and Mydoung shopping area 15 mins. I recommend to all to stay here. nagaza mi da xoxoxo

Overpriced, despite the 50% discount! Old hotel, small room, old equipment, expansive restaurant.
