"Don't stay there "

Checking was very good but the room is cramped, needs updating in everything, cluttered and over priced! I could have stayed at the Premier Inn and had a much better experience and certainly cheaper then the room we had which can only be discribed as a dog box ... We were so disappointed and we got 2 hours sleep between us thanks to noisy idiots from Tue local pubs and the room was lit up all night due yo no blackout curtains in the room despite the windows being next to street lights ... Not worth the money I paid by a long shot $185 aud is way too much for this accommodation

Very clean and tidy excellent breakfast room as fine for overnight stop Which I was doing, as no place to put clothing other room's I do not know about can't complain about the price

"Surprising B&B so close to the Quay"

The Merchant House was a surprise in lots of ways - all good. While our room was compact, it had everything for a comfortable stay but our lasting memory is of David the Proprietor and the amazing cooked breakfast! Wow! Give it a try.

"Not happy Jan!"

Host was lovely but had to wait 3 hours to check in because of a family issue which was not ideal. The bed had a dip in it so was extremely uncomfortable and needs to be replaced, and the pillows were all rock hard. The shower was dreadful and was impossible to get the correct temp...either freezing or blistering hot. The breakfast was big and excellent however.

"Great second visit to Merchant house. "

Lovely host. Great room. The bed was a little hard for me BUT slept well considering my journey had been so bad.Right near the quay and a delight to stay at Merchant House..
