Brilliant host , although I arrived very late in the evening it was no trouble. Excellent breakfast etc Would definitely return .

On arrival to this lovely boutique Georgian house the host was warm and welcoming. The room was clean and had little homely touches.The bed was extremely comfortable. The best part of the day was the anazing breakfast . David is an excellent chef and there was a wide choice of fresh fruit, cereals and cooked breakfast including homemade bread and marmalade. I would strongly recommend anyone who wants a break from one night to a week to stay here.

Peace of mind value for money,, fantastic host, owner made you feel comfortable. I booked for 2nd anniversary we both had a fab time good memories for life..thumbs up👍

Great character property close to the quayside which makes it ideal for events

We really enjoyed our stay here, it's perfectly located for the main sights of Poole, a stone's throw from the harbour. The owner is lovely, and does a world class breakfast, including home made sourdough bread. You also have the chance to say hello to Alfie the dog. The room and bed were on the small side, but this is a period property. Overall, highly recommended

Firstly the property is lovely and clean and in a fantastic location. Parking was provided and breakfast courtesy of a restaurant on the quayside - superb 😁. Host very friendly and welcoming. However, I can only speak for our room “Payne”, it is NOT a double room! The bed is a 3/4 double we had to “top and toe” and were not big people. There is NO wardrobe, NO cupboards, drawers or shelves. There are only 2 sockets For the kettle and only lamp and no where near the mirror which is also blocked by the bathroom door. We had to buy an extension lead. The kettle has a fixed lead and so unplugging and taking the whole thing to the bathroom is needed and makes it difficult to pour without unplugging again. The host graciously reduced our bill slightly when I mentioned these thing upon settling up. Basically a fab place but don’t stay in “Payne” if you’re a couple over 18 and more than 5’ 6” or 9 stone!

The bathroom was lovely and spacious but unfortunately this was not replicated in the bedroom which was small and in our opinion should have been a single room. The bed was pushed up against the wall making it difficult to get out of bed without disturbing your partner. You had to crawl down the bed and over the bedframe. There was limited room to walk around - the width of the door along the bed and the space of a chest of drawers at the bottom. Breakfast was at a local restaurant due to COVID. This was lovely but we had a limited menu. It would have been nice to be able to order from the full menu with a surcharge if we wanted the larger more expensive breakfast. We thought the room was overpriced for its size.

Very COVID aware. Bed comfortable and nice shower. Not serving breakfast but sending you to a very nice cafe where you have a special Merchant House menu.

Very handy for the ferry , and restaurant, s , the room was lovely and very welcoming, kettle filled , lamp on , host was very helpful.
