We had a wonderful time! We were returning customers and for good train! The staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming! The room was beautiful and quiet! The breakfast was delicious! If i had to say one negative was i was asked if we had dietary restrictions. We both do and i assumed because of our previous stay that the restrictions really meant something. We don't eat pork. Last time they were prepared and we had turkey bacon i believe it was. The first morning we were asked if we had dietary restriction but there was no options provided we were offered less foid because no options. So this morning we just didn't bother to say anything and ate around it. Of course this email detail is obviously to us not a reason to stay here again..next time we just won't mention it and work around it. We were very pleased with everything else!! Thank you for the great memories!! We will be back!!

"One Awesome place to stay"

10.0

I wish I could give it 15 stars. We travel a lot and this is our new favorite. We stayed in one of the cottages on the hill. It was a large comfortable room. My only complaint is the chairs in the room were old and not comfortable. Everything else was exceptional. Great breakfast. Right in town so close to food, shopping and drinks. We enjoyed the quiet and the views that were beautiful. Parking is great and right next to you room. Our stay was so great we are already planning on returning next year.

Awesome stone cottage, beautifully and appropriately appointed to help us feel we stepped back in time to the 1800’s. We wanted to bring the bathroom shower back home with us. Only negatives were we couldn’t start the gas stove, nor was there a way to cover the window in the door to our room. Last, the breakfast service was wonderful, offering different breakfasts each morning. This will definitely be an annual tradition. One note for midweek travelers to Hermann. Since the heavy tourist traffic is on the weekends, not all businesses are open on Tues-Wed or Wed-Thurs. Plan accordingly…

Transfer service from registration to the private cottages is much needed. Golf cart, mini van, UTV, etc.

"Lovely views, some help needed"

8.0

We had a really great time in Hermann overall and the Champagne room was really lovely. However, the lighting in the room is godawful. If it's getting dark out and you have every single light on, reading is painful. They have yellow low-watt bulbs in their fixtures, there's absolutely zero central lighting (all perimeter lamps, nothing overhead in the main room), and even though the lamps are 3-way capable, the bulbs are not. I tried, I swear. I did everything I could to bring light into the room and I simply couldn't succeed. The way it's laid out doesn't help either. My wife didn't have a bedside lamp because there's nowhere to put one. Her nightstand was a short little piece that held her phone and our packs of cards. There's also a lack of outlets by the bed. There's one behind the bed on the left (stage right) side, but I am short and my wingspan isn't long enough to get to it (my head couldn't squeeze between leg and wall to reach). The room was otherwise very lovely, the bathroom is huge and well-lit. We did keep having issues with the water temperature in the shower though. The nozzle does not work as the C and H print suggests it should (had to keep it at 9 or 10 o'clock which is technically the cold side, 12 o'clock would be cold, 1 and 2 would be a coin toss). The bathtub is absolutely lovely, though. You should bring bubble bath or bath bombs (the body wash provided does not bubble enough to be used as bubble bath - I tried). On to breakfast! They change it up daily, but it's mostly the same thing prepared differently each day. Which is fine! I am a habitual breakfast-eater and love eggs, potatoes, and (turkey/chicken) breakfast meats. However, after booking, my wife got a call from the Inn asking about dietary restrictions. She told them that I don't eat "normal" meats, only poultry and fish. The Inn person (not sure who exactly) offered to try to get chicken sausage or something for my breakfasts. That sounded so kind and lovely, I was thrilled! At our first breakfast, I asked about the chicken sausage and our server (Eric, he's lovely and very good) asked the kitchen. The kitchen said they weren't informed and hadn't ordered it. I was decently disappointed honestly. Why bother asking us about dietary restrictions pre-stay if you're not going to let the kitchen know? The last complaint, and I swear it's the last one, is that our key cards were deactivated twice. This probably would have been a blip if we had been in the actual Inn building, but we weren't. We were on a very high hill in one of the houses. We would drive all the way up the hill, get to the door, and we'd be locked out. The first time, we drove back down to the Inn and got new cards. The woman (didn't catch her name) said that the person who made the cards may have activated them for the wrong amount of days. Ok, no problem, thanks for the new cards, and we went back up. Everything was fine until literally our last day. We went to breakfast at 8:45 and got back up the hill by 9:30 (this was the longest breakfast service we'd had but that's not the point). Key card didn't work again. The housekeeping van was parked at the next house up, so we were able to have them let us in. They said "The cards can be deactivated if they've been in contact with your phone" which we were told at check-in and my wife kept them in her wallet in a different pocket for that purpose. I'm 99% certain our cards were not created for the correct amount of days, again. We had a longish stay. I'm not sure how often they get Sun-Thur guests, but they just seemed a bit ill-prepared (breakfast, key cards). I stand by my 4 out of 5, though. All of my complaints can't beat the view of Hermann we had from our deck or the comfort of our bed. They don't outweigh the beautiful bathroom or the free tastings we were gifted with our stay. And they really mean very little when it comes to the quality of our breakfasts - the food was very good and, again, Eric was just so lovely and thoughtful. I would recommend staying here, maybe on a normal Hermann weekend...

We enjoyed our stay! We stayed at the Brahms and it was absolutely amazing. I fell in love with the cottage but couldn’t book a specific room directly on the Expedia app. I called the property and they helped me coordinate it. We really, really appreciate the front office lady. I wish I remembered her name. She was sooo helpful. She gave great recommendations and even had the hours of businesses around the hotel memorized. She was working her tail off. We have stayed in a lot of hotels/vacation rentals and this room just made you feel like you were in another world. Absolutely stunning. The Trolley in town is a must. We went in March so it wasn’t out of control wild, but I can see a younger me really enjoying the busy season :) We don’t really drink wine, but all of the wineries around town were super accommodating and really made us feel comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel and the town in general. We will be back for sure!
