The Old Station House

The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was first class, and Victoria made sure that we were happy with everything. We would stay here again if visiting the area.

There wasn't anything we didn't like.

The room was clean and warm. Despite the late check-in time we were able to park the car at the property earlier. The location is relatively good, with half decent bus connections to the local towns. Inexpensive compared to other places in the area.

The check-in time is quite late. The listing says that earlier check-in may be available on request, but when requested this I received a response which seemed like a standard response for such requests, which makes me think this isn't possible. As we were only staying for one night, it would have been nice to have been able to check in earlier. The door to the ensuite was a folding, slatted (I think) door and offered little privacy, but I can understand why such a door was used, due to the size of the room. The bed had a metal frame which creaked and banged when changing sleeping position. Didn't make for a good night's sleep. The smart TV was connected wirelessly, but the WiFi signal was so poor it made streaming anything imposssible. Despite the rave reviews, I found the breakfast a little disappointing. Could have been an off day? Toast wasn't provided until the cooked breakfast was almost eaten. I wasn't particularly keen on the communal breakfast table. Thankfully, the other guests were quite pleasant, but can imagine it would be awkward if that wasn't the case.
