Eastwell Manor, Champneys Hotel & Spa

Lovely location, history and grounds. The rooms were comfortable although quite hot in this weather. All the staff we came across were friendly, helpful and very pleasant, the Taste of Kent menu was excellent, we enjoyed our stay and would visit again.

The breakfast which was a little disappointing, not sure why the butter was straight from the freezer!

It had an outdoor pool & outdoor hot tub only staying guest with spa access can use

It was a very hot room with no fans or air con. The pillow cases were a little itchy & they played loud weird wailing music in the evening no recognisable songs. The speakers were right by our open windows. Plus you can only use spa 5-9pm or 6-10am it should be all The time if your staying.

Enjoyed an evening spa at Champneys. Fantastic time spent in spectacular setting. Great facilities. Topped off with fab meal at Sage, looked after by the wonderful Louise. Couldn’t recommend more highly.

First of all I would like to say what a beautiful location and first impressions were excellent. However tiny things let the whole experience down. We booked in for a 1 night spa package with evening meal, breakfast & lunch. The meals were lovely, however the hidden extras for surcharge and vat were unexpected. We had drinks in the bar, and when presented with the bill was shocked by the extra amounts added on. When I questioned the barman he just said that it was advertised in the menu. I asked him to point out where & he was unable to, & became quite dismissive of my point. I questioned this again the following morning with lady in reception and advised to go to the bar to speak to Megan. Could not find Megan only the barman from the previous evening. My room was very tired looking, cracks in the wall, flaking paint, rotten window frames, however the waterfall shower was amazing. The room also had lots of ants which I reported to the the spa reception but apart from an apology the receptionist didn’t seem too bothered. At both breakfast and lunch we had to wait ages for our drinks to arrive even though we could see them prepared on a tray at the bar waiting to be served. Our lunch drinks arrived after we had finished our meal which was 40 minutes from ordering and it was the complete order. We actually gave up on the missing drinks and left. These little thing let the whole experience down. Would I book an overnight package - no, would I book a spa day package - probably, give you the benefit of the doubt. As I said at the beginning the location and main building is beautiful. Please sort out the minor issues and it would be amazing.

Shout out to James on Reception We had a really lovely experience with James during our visit to Champneys Spa. James was extremely polite and welcoming. He spoke clearly, made us feel at ease, and was very professional in the way he handled everything. Nothing felt rushed and he took the time to make sure we were comfortable. James has a warm manner that helped make the visit more relaxing. You can tell he takes pride in his work and really cares about the guests. Thank you James for all your help. We look forward to many more stays at Champneys.

Amazing restaurant with a great atmosphere, delicious food, and excellent service. The staff are friendly and welcoming, making every visit enjoyable. Special thanks to Serhii, who is hardworking, professional, and always happy to help. Highly recommended!

I was bought a couple’s spa day for my birthday by my husband. Firstly the online booking page was a confusing process - he had added on massages to the facial we had with the package. However when we checked in, they only had a record of our facials and were fully booked which meant no massages for us which was very disappointing! We were waiting five minutes for a table for our welcome snacks, then another minutes for our pot of tea, and a further 20mins for our snacks, by which time we had finished our tea! (yogurt with a bit of granola and danish pastry). Despite the sage restaurant being advertised as newly open, the decor was tired, broken lampshades and a thick layer of dust and crumbs under the sofas. In the changing rooms, a lot of the lockers didn’t lock, there were holes in the ceiling, changing cubicles without locks, and chipboard missing from seats in the cubicles. The toilet flush also wasn’t working. The outside pool was a lovely area, but it would have been better had the bar been open in the morning to get a drink - even if there were only soft drinks for licensing reasons they would have made a fortune! Lunch was back in the Sage restaurant - it was ok but nothing to write home about. Again, despite being the only two people inside we were waiting fifteen minutes for our order to be taken, a further 20minutes for our food, and our drinks arrived just after our food arrived when we reminded them! Our drinks were also warm. The outdoor spa pool was lovely, the indoor hydrotherapy pool was ok but definitely in need of maintenance with mouldy areas, tiles missing, ceiling lights out, limescale on the glass dividers and ceiling jets broken. Even the life jacket in the indoor pool had seen better days and was broken and frayed. As for the facial, it seemed very rushed and she pulled my hair rather hard during my scalp massage - no communication as to whether the pressure was ok, just seemed to want to get it over and done with. Would I come here again? No.
