have been before many years ago ..the place has changed but still has the links to Beatrix Potter ,who was wonderful. also in the most delightful setting Food was superb also .

Couldn’t fault anything, it was exactly what what we were looking for.

Travelled with my wife and 3 year old daughter. We had a great experience from start to finish. The hotel was very quirky, the staff were great, and the breakfast was also great. The hotel is very close to Bowness pier, less than 5 mins in car. We had no idea the hotel was linked to Beatrix Potter, and this was a pleasant surprise as we planned to visit the 'world of Beatrix Potter attraction'. Will definitely stay again!

The hotel rooms are a bit old and could be updated to match the quirky style. The hotel sign was hard to read as i think it was in the handwriting style of Beatrix Potter. The hotel could maybe add another sign with the hotel name written in capital letters so it is easier to make out from the main road.

Quiet location, great views and amazing decor! Quirky and interesting. Food was of a good standard and reasonable bar service. Very friendly staff in all areas. Very clean throughout.

The bedroom was in the attic, or seemed to be, and not great for taller guests due to the sloping ceilings. It was a little cramped in the bed area but ok overall.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Gave us a room upgrade on arrival. The room was very spacious and had every amenity you could need. Excellent shower. Views into the garden which were well kept and very peaceful to sit out in. The hotel itself is very quirky, which is one of the reasons I wanted to stay, loved it so much that we have booked another 2-night stay in July for our anniversary.

Breakfast was fantastic and the grounds are really pretty. The staff were all very friendly.

Despite us booking a double deluxe and confirming ahead of time that it would be a double bed, it was in fact 2 single mattresses pushed together. This makes for a really uncomfortable sleep as the mattresses did not align and left a very notable ridge right down the middle of the bed.
