Castello di Petrata

Don't think about staying anywhere else. Assisis beautiful, a must. The hotel is a drive up the mountains to the north.....but well worth it for the views. It is beautiful!!!! and the pool was a welcome break in the Italian summer heat. Oops...should have kept this a secret...I might want to book it again in the future. Forget what I said earlier...it's rubbish.

This is a lovely hotel at the top of a mountain in Assisi - tranquility reigns supreme. Peaceful with gorgeous landscaping and the views are sublime. The on-property restaurant was good and the food was excellent(4 out of 5). The staff were all pleasant and helpful. The Billiard Room could use a little updating but we still had fun there. Excellent wine at dinner, the breakfast was more than we expected and we were only sad to have one day/night there. It was not as tricky to find from the center of Assisi as I had thought it might be, although it was an adventure driving the roads to get there.

We stayed at Castello di Petrata for two nights in early October. Be prepared for what at first feels like a long drive outside of Assisi - but it's well worth the trip. The hotel is historic, beautifully renovated, maintaining elements of the original structure, with all the modern conveniences. The grounds are vast and beautiful and the staff was happy to oblige any request. We ate dinner at the hotel on our first night, and the food was delicious, with a wonderful wine selection from local wineries. I highly recommend this property.

L'incontestabile bellezza di Assisi e la sua accoglienza sono state ulteriormente impreziosite dalla permanenza presso il Castello di Petrata: luogo contornato dal verde attrezzato e ricco di profumi, vista panoramica, stanze piacevolmente arredate, pulizia adeguata, ambiente sano e rilassante, servizio ristorante soddisfacente... simboli di una bella Italia che lavora e funziona. I prezzi sono conformati alla qualità servita. Il personale della struttura merita un elogio particolare, gli operatori sono gentili, educati, disponibili e sempre generosi nel concedere un sorriso. I sorrisi non costano nulla e rendono più gradevoli i rapporti. Consiglio a chiunque il soggiorno presso il Castello di Petrata, io farò sicuramente ritorno, ma la prossima volta in buona compagnia.

First hotel after a long flight. It was peaceful and very comfortable. Great place to start a very busy trip.g

Personale estremamente gentile, buona anche la ristorazione.

We were delighted with the magnificent view of Assisi and the quality of staff service. However, we were surprised to learn that our room did not have air conditioning. As it was 34 degrees during our stay, we had great difficulties sleeping despite being provided with a small room fan.

The castello is an amazing venue in the middle of the most beautiful countryside that I have ever seen. I don't know the history of the small castle, but it was charming and yet retained its rugged castle features. The small arrow-slit windows and the exposed brick throughout made me feel like I had taken a holiday through time. It was an amazing start to the trip of a lifetime in Italy.

Das Personal war ausgesucht höflich. Eine einzigartige Location, die sehr gut zum Kulturausflug nach Assisi paßt. Ruhige Lage, wunderbare Aussicht, nur 10 Autominuten von Assisi entfernt. Sehr empfehlenswert!!
