Hotel Las Colinas

I have no idea how this place can even be classified as a hotel, let alone have three stars. I would rather call it the worst kind of low-budget hostel. The rooms are tiny, musty, and have no natural light. The only “window” is an open gap above the door that can’t be closed, so anyone can look inside. The walls are paper-thin, and you can hear absolutely everything from the other rooms. The bathroom was worse than anything I’ve ever seen. Dirty, moldy, with broken and rusty fixtures. The level of filth and neglect is shocking. Cleanliness is nonexistent. Dirt, rust, and dust everywhere. You can hear mice inside the walls—absolutely disgusting. The beds are rock-hard, and there are no proper blankets, just a thin sheet. Security is a joke. No safe in the room, and the door looks like it could be kicked in with no effort. I felt completely unsafe staying here. I was booked here as part of a G Adventures tour, and I can’t understand how they would choose such a terrible place. Never again!

This was our first time in Costa Rica and we decided to book this hotel last minute and it was one of the best decisions we made, it was a nice small cozy hotel, the people here were nothing but amazing, they were all very nice and caring. I have no regrets about booking this hotel and if I was to go back to Costa Rica I would stay here again!!! Thank you to everyone that works here and specially the people in the restaurant you guys are all amazing! PURA VIDA!

Booked here by our GAdventures tour. Looks like it was a former shopping mall as bedroom wall and door are a bank of windows that are covered with drapes or paneling. Poor soundproofing. In need of thorough cleaning; dirty and moldy bathroom grout, floors and baseboards. Walls were dirty, and had gouges and marks. Beds were hard, pillows very hard and uncomfortable. Bathroom water pressure and temp were good. Shower door broken. Bathroom sink drains through a pipe into the shower. Towels were worn and threadbare. Airconditioning and bathroom fan worked well. No smoke detectors or alarms evident. Wifi good. No room safe. Shared kitchen (hostel style) with fridge, microwave, dishes etc. looked dirty. Lots of communal seating and tables. Nice upper level terrace with a variety of seating and tables. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Attached restaurant was convenient and food was good and reasonably priced. Good location in town for exploring by foot. Bank, atm, food market, pharmacy shops and restaurants all in walking distance.

This is a simple hotel in the central location of La Fortuna with a lot of shops and restaurants nearby. Staff is very friendly and accommodating.

Easy check in. Great breakfast, included. Ashley was so friendly, she made us feel like family.

Honestly do not k ow how this hotelgets 4 Stars. The rooms are so musty & spotted black mold too. The AC did not work properly. Tour guide says everyone co.plains but no modifications are made. As long as G Tourz continue to book with this hotel the owner will do nothing to make the air quality healthful. I actually became sick fro. Reathing that air for only 2 nights! If you care abput your health at all I would advise against staying in these rooms. May cost extra for you on a tour but find a truly better horel. Dont ruin your trip

I think most importantly the staff was super friendly and accommodating. They always strived to help with anything you needed whether it was food, reservations, the spa, etc. everything was great and in a great location. Thank you for helping to make our vacation great!

Walk to all the restaurants. Good views. Value for the money.
