Hotel Las Colinas

Hotel located right in town center. Very convenient since you are able to walk to any place to eat and drink. Bakeries open very early so even if you have a 6:30 a.m pickup, it’s not an issue. Two bakeries are approximately two blocks away; one across the park and another a few hundred feet from National Bank. The hotel is modest , safe and clean. Staff is friendly. There is restaurant and bar on site. I stayed in room 24 which is a few feet from the bar which is open until 10:30 p.m. Room is decent size with A.C. and TV. Bathroom provides soap, body wash and towels. Hotel can also make arrangements for massages which is next door. I had aromatherapy and reflexology which was the best I’ve had. Jeannette was amazing!.

The rooms are clean

Honeymoon suite has an airconsitioner right over the bed that drips on your head while you sleep. The tub is huge but the jets dont work. Very convenient to have a bar and food eight outside though. Very centrally located as well. Staff was friendly

Nice hotel we enjoyed staying here so close to all the amenities in the area.

We are a family of 5 from Canada, and have been traveling around the country for 2 months. Las Colinas has totally set the bar for hospitality. Out of the 10 hotels we have stayed in, the staff here was the most friendly and hospitable. We were greeted with friendly smiles and a family owned feel. The terrace was a very relaxing spot for a drink, and to have a perfect view of the Arenal Volcano. Every single staff member we encountered went out of their way to ensure we were well cared for and had what we needed. To top it all off, our son left his Kindle behind in the room and the staff went out of their way to get it to us at NO cost. If I had to say one negative thing about this hotel, it would be noise. The 2nd floor rooms are circling the bar, so it can get quite noisy if you have a toddler or baby that gets to bed early. We could also hear our neighbor snoring, which was not the most pleasant thing. But truly we would give this hotel a 10/10 for hospitality, cleanliness and location!!

This is a small hotel on a city street in downtown La Fortuna with restaurants, shops and tour booking offices all nearby. But the best bar is their own, an open patio on the second floor that attracts locals an tourists both. Rooms were simple but clean, air con, internet and hot shower. Breakfast was individually made for us and included fresh fruit and juices, Costa Rican coffee and local and Americano favorites. The staff embraced us like family! We hated to leave.

The staff were helpful but reception was sometimes closed and the bar upstairs was very close to the rooms and used by outside guests. It is also central on a main road which makes it convenient to get around but noisy. Plenty of places for breakfast and eating around but bar food/drinks at the hotel were fine if you wanted to stay in.

Yay we had hot water for the showers fist in 7 days. How luxurious. Room was fine. AC if needed. Located downtown so close to everything one might need food, drinks etc. Bars and restaurants are dotted around

The hotel staff and the bar staff were very nice and friendly. The hotel is located close to the main street and is walking distance to shops, services and restaurants. We are travelling with two teenagers and driving through Costa Rica staying at various cities. Our main reason for booking this hotel was its central location to local attractions and positive reviews on Expedia. We were also keeping an eye on our budget and wanted to book a “good value for money” hotel. This is a ramshackle hotel. The lobby is tucked away into a non discrete room which took some time to find because of the clatter in the surrounding rooms and corridors. The rooms on the first floor don’t have windows and we could see inside the rooms through the doors that were left wide often. Our room was on the second floor near the bar and had a must, mold smell with a mix of sewage. The room amenities are decrepit and the showers area was mildly and dirty. One bed was missing a head board and had bed covers of questionable age and cleanliness. The entire family slept with our clothes on. The room had enough space for two suitcases which when open occupied the entire floor space. The hot water in the shower was a hit and miss. I personally swatted two adult cockroaches and a few smaller ones in the shower. The property locks down after 10pm and you need to make arrangements for the owner to open the door. One night some guests didn’t get the memo and almost broke down the door at night.

Too noisy, musing going and road traffic going well after 11:00 pm. Am traffic starts again at 4:40. There was construction, hardly anyone at front desk and no soaps or shampoos in the bathroom. I had to check out after having two sleepless nights. This place should be dropped by expedia. Not worth the money at all. A canadian and German couple chucked out as we because of the sane reason leaving out others that we don't know of. I asked for the remainder of my payment and was given an answer by a shake of the head meaning NO.
