Property is an old one, you can't expect much. Average rooms and bathrooms, not luxury. We stayed there in the April, obviously it is hot season. We stayed at the hotel in the morning, and it was too hot in the rooms. There were no AC or fans (Kodiakanal usually not have). Next worst thing was their food. They had a huge menu for buffet, but none on the food stuff was up to the expectation. Noting except Idly tasted good. If you are looking for a healthy breakfast, with a lot of protein (tasty too), this is not your place.

I strongly caution fellow travelers against being misled by polished photographs and biased reviews. Our recent two-night family stay was a massive disappointment and fell dangerously short of the 5-star standards this property claims to uphold. Safety & Security: This was our greatest concern. The room felt entirely insecure; the safety chain on the door was broken, the privacy cap on the peephole was missing, and the door bolt itself was missing several screws. For a high-end hotel, such neglect regarding guest security is completely unacceptable. Room Condition & Hygiene: The accommodations were "3rd-grade" at best. Everything felt grimy and stained. The bed was uncomfortable, and the pillows had a noticeable, unpleasant odor. To make matters worse, basic amenities were lacking—they couldn't even provide a simple bottle of sealed drinking water. Facilities & Service: The shower had almost no water pressure. We reported this to the reception immediately, but our complaint was ignored and nothing was resolved during our stay. The phone in the room also stopped working on the second day for that the management said it's a cable issue which was not resolved till I checkout.While the breakfast was decent, the options were very limited and certainly didn't make up for the poor living conditions. Verdict: A "5-star" label should imply a certain level of care, luxury, and—most importantly—safety. This property provided none of the above. I will not be returning and cannot recommend this hotel to anyone, especially those traveling with family.
