Serways Hotel Heiligenroth

When we arrived we could not enter inside of the hotel. There was nobody inside or outside to give us advice. Later we discovered that hotel does not have reception, and all registration has to be provided by cofee shop personal nearby. Nothing special I can say about this hotel, excluding the fact that it was cold in the room.

Nice clean hotel. Ideal for my quick overnight stop right on the A3. Food was service station food but hotel was clean, tidy and had everything you'd need for a quick stopover. Also had air-con and free Wi-Fi

Hotel in motorway service area and excellent location for overnight stay on journey from UK to Austria. Basic but very clean accommodation. Food in motorway cafe and very limited at 9pm only Burger King hot food available.

This is a newer, well-maintained property. Sparsely furnished but a high-end bathroom. Difficult to find however as the name on the outside is Hotel, not Motel, and the only way to reach it is off a one-way southbound access road for the A3 Autobahn, and if you miss it (we did) it's 15 minutes before you can get back. However it is next to a large, modern 24-hour truck stop with good food and service that also serves as reception.

Fine, except arrived around 2300 after spending 22 hours in the car (snow!!) and not wanting hassle. The poor (very polite) receptionist had to ring manager 'at home' and, in the end, it took OVER 20 minutes to get a key!! Otherwise, fine and I knew the hotel/service area from previous trips down to Munich/Nuremberg. Freindly staff at breakfast and good food with it being served until 11am, which is good for very late travellers!

The hotel is conveniently located directly off the A3 but neither Google maps, Hotels.com, viaMichelin, or the hotel staff could explain exactly how to get there. We arrived for the first of two 1 night stays (outward and return) only to be told by hotel staff that we were booked for 2 nights. After a lengthy amendment to our booking we got to our room. Absolutely excellent in every respect. Clean, spacious and very comfortable. Excellent shower and the hotel even provided two cots for our 1 year old twins. We paid extra for breakfast but it was well worth it and up to typical German standards. Our return stay some 3 weeks later was the same story. The hotel believed we were booked in for 2 nights (we booked one) and they even charged us an extra ten Euros because their prices had gone up! Access to this hotel is not possible directly off the A3 for the return journey so we had to drive through the surrounding village without issue. Great hotel with super facilities, great value, somewhat spoiled by our welcome. We raised this issue with Hotels.com and this would not put us off staying there again when we make this same trip next year.
