Villa L'Auberge

Easy check-in. Disappointing room in villa,on lower level, view of parking lot, low-lying motels, and a sliver of ocean surf. The huge detriment was the train tracks, with a very regular Amtrak schedule, all night long. It was located directly below our balcony & shrubs - right before the low-lying motels and parking lot. Not what we payed for. Villa had no elevator, rather had outdoor stairwell - tough for schlepping a giant suitcase to room. No bell hop handy - they were all in front of the high-end hotel.

My reservation at above mentioned Condo was made last November 2016. Our check in date was for March 17/17. I had called 2 times to confirm my reservation the last time, as late as 10 am the morning prior to check in at 4 pm & was assured all was fine. We checked in and was told these Condo's were under refurbishment and could not be used but L'Auberge Hotel said quote: BUT, we have a nice room for you...I was shocked ! Having called a few hours before and nothing was said. The check in desk at L'Auberge Del Mar said, did no one tell you..... It was my b'day celebration and we were having some friends join us for a get together. I had everything planned car full with foodstuff etc., Finally, management was called, they said they would try to relocate us to another Condo, they called to tell us where to go and we had to use what they found for us by far, not the caliber that I chose and expected to have use of for my celebration, We had to call everyone with a change of address plus, call people from other countries to re-route if possible flowers and gifts being sent, it was a nightmare & upsetting, to say the least and very disappointing !!!!! L'Auberge Del Mar certainly need to do a better job networking with their departments for a Hotel that is supposed to be one of the higher ranking hotels in Del Mar, California. In my opinion do not bother to visit there because as far as I am concerned it is not worth the visit, there are other very nice upscale hotels in the area.

We enjoyed our stay but is a bit pricey. It's got an ocean view and a nice balcony. However, the jets in the bath tub didn't work and there was no room service.

Overall it was a very nice stay.

Having paid in advance and confirmed for 4 day stay, the owner forced us to move after three days so that they could use the condo. Two weeks later and still no refund and no call back from manager. Incredibly rude and inconsiderate. Also, 1000 AM check out is earlier than standard.

Loved it! Great condo and ocean views.

The only down side was check out at 10am. Ridiculously early!! Expedia said 11am. Hotel said 10am ! We had to leave at 10. We were not happy! Expedia needs correct checkout time! I was able to check in an hour earlier so that made up for it.
