Villa L'Auberge

Great location and great place. You can walk to restaurants, bars, beach. Place is clean and decorated nicely. We will be back!

Location is great. The villas of L’Auberge are VERY old and dated complete with a musty smell as you walk in. Thin walls and floors. Can hear your neighbors showering and beds creaking. I would not stay again. No comparison to the hotel which I’m very familiar with.

Fabulous hotel, super friendly staff and great views. Outdoor seating at restaurant was great. Walking distoto beach (literally across the stree) Dog friendly hotel and beach. Dining on the ocean. We will definitely return 😊

The Villa was rather hot in August and had no air conditioner. The check in was handled poorly as the lady checking me in could not find my reservation even after I gave her the confirmation. She had to get help from someone else. I arrived at 2 and check in was at 4. They said the room was not ready and they would call me when it was ready. At 3:50 I called them and they said it was ready. Upon arriving, it was very hot. I looked for air and found none. I called and they said the villas did not have air. At certain times of the year this is probably ok but in August with the sun coming in, it was rather hot--84. We opened windows, turned on ceiling fans, and took a cold shower. We found a portable fan in the closet which made sleeping better. The trains ran often and I used ear plugs for sleeping. The villa is spacious and would be comfortable during a milder time of the year. The maids come around 9-10 because of the heat and are helpful. Check out is at 10 and I am sure my room was ready at 2 but the customer service/check in at L'Auberge caters to their hotel guest only. It is a beautiful place but we will stay elsewhere next time.

My wife an I stayed there several years ago on a time share trade. We had a room below one that had a kid in it. The child ran around day and night and it sounded like an elephant instead of a kid. We couldn't get to sleep at night and couldn't sleep past 5 in the morning. We called the front desk several times, but it didn't change a thing. Room was ok, nothing great. Definitely not worth what they're charging. You are paying for location and nothing more. Date of stay was required for this review and I chose oldest one available so this would post. Our stay was quite awhile back, but experience was so bad I had to let people know.

First thing walking unto room a bug running for cover then bathtub backed up. Told front desk said following day at 10am someone would contact me. 3 days later no one ever did.

This was one of our favorite timeshare weeks. We have stayed in many different timeshares over the years. This unit (601) had a nice view of the ocean, was clean, had comfortable furniture and bed & pillows were great, had a fireplace, was spacious and light & bright if we desired. It was quiet and we slept so well here and we could walk to most everything we needed. The hotel's pool was available for our use. We had a designated parking spot!

Fireplace did not work or did remote.. but promptly fixed it. Qas clean and BEAUTIFUL

I was in one of the timeshare units and had a LR, 1 BR, 1 Bath, and a full kitchen/dining space. It was lovely other than the kitchen was missing some cooking supplies. These were eventually supplied as well. Bed was excellent. No complaints re: TV, internet. M, W, F towel replacement. Not beachfront. Beach is a good ways down the hill but there is a walking path. Only 3 of 12 units have no stairs to climb. Good stay.

We stayed at the time share. Our unit was wonderful. Pool, hot tub, restaurants and hotel bars are great. Easy access! BEST PART...Short walk to the beach. We stayed 7 nights and walked to the beach everyday and sometimes twice a day. It takes less than 10 mins. You won't find a better spot in Del Mar!! We plan to come back and stay at hotel.
