Kinta Kan Cabañas Hotel Playa del Carmen

Right on the beach. Super easy to walk to anything. Not too loud

The hotel is right on 5th avenue which is we’re all the excitement is but if you wanted to stay at the hotel beach club all day, it would be a picture perfect place. The staff(Jorge, Hector, Rosa, Rene, and others) will take care of your every need with comfort, drinks, and food. The people at check in are very helpful(Max, Wakeen, and the other very pretty and nice lady which I forgot her name )can answer a lot of questions for you. The property is older but since I go camping a lot I would say this property takes care of my every need and provides everything you need for a great vacation.

Well we took the chance to stay at beach and paid 125$ mex, per person for the bench and umbrella. So far so good…. the real rip off were the ordered Margaritas… close to water and after a complain they fixed the drink and asked for 125 $ mex more! Bad service bad attitude.

We booked 2 rooms for 3 nights via booking.Com described as having a balcony and sea view. When we arrived after a 10 hr flight they took our money then showed us the rooms. For both rooms there was no balcony, just a ground floor seating area, and instead of a sea view we were offered the view of a metal cage behind which was stored beach furniture, a massage tent and the base of a tree. Please see the pictures attached. We declined the rooms and demanded a refund. I asked if they had made a mistake, but was informed that the owner considers these rooms equivalent to the ones we booked as the have direct access to the beach i.e. it was a deliberate policy, they just don’t bother to tell you when you book. They cancelled the payment for 3 nights but insisted we pay for the first one. We left anyway because we felt we had been cheated. We are still trying to get a refund through booking.Com. I would not book here again.

The hotel is very nice and in a good location. Close to everything. The afternoon and evening of the day we arrrived it rained very hard We were out. When we returned tge roof had leaked and some of our luggage was wet. I reportrd to the front desk. They attempted to relocate us to 3 other rooms but they also had leaking roofs. The night desk attendant brought us many towels and had our floor mopped. Finally it stopped raining. I requested to speak to the property manager ASAP. I was told they werent available until the next morning. The next morning i again requested to speak to the property mgr. I was told he/she would get with me. All day waited for response from the property mgr. None. That afternoon i again went to the front desk and requested as to why no communication from the property manager. The front desk contacted the property manager but only left a message after much discussion. Later that evening i was told too bad soo sad and offered $20 credit at restaurant/bar. This was no good because we were leaving the next morning. From discussions with staff, the management has know about tgese leaks knows about these leaks for a while and done nothing to repair. Totally unsat. Sorry for tge next guests who book any rooms 201 through 206 ocean front if it rains. They will get wet!!!!

DIRTY, UNSAFE, NOISY

We had a wonderful experience at Kinda Kan. The property was beautiful and the location was great. There are even Mayan ruins on the property! Check in was very smooth. Beds were comfy and staff was accommodating. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a quiet peaceful oasis away from the craziness of Playa nightlife. Even get a massage right in front on the beach!

I LOVED our stay here. It was even more beautiful in person. The room was spotless with a very nice bathroom. The AC worked perfectly and I loved that we had a smart tv for netflix. We were right on the beach and the location was in walking distance of everything. The staff really made the biggest impact and went above and beyond. They were so nice! I can’t wait to go back :)

Terrible experience... they overbooked the place, so they sent me to a sister hotel that was absolutely nothing like the hotel that I paid for... internet and power receptacles didn't work in the room... the room was basically a gross little bungalow... I asked for a refund and cancelation, but they weren't willing to cancel, despite already being overbooked... highly recommend you avoid this place in case they overbook again
