Kinta Kan Cabañas Hotel Playa del Carmen

Purchase with queen bed and patio. Double bed against a wall with no room for luggage. Not at all like the pictures. Charged an upgrade to get to that room. Hotel is barely above a hostel

This is a really a hostel hotel. Basic room is 8 x 8 with no storage, no safe, tiny sink and 16" tv not the 43in they say. No rainfall shower , no safe and no place to store anything or hardly place your suitcase or place to put your bathroom items. Upgraded rooms have more space but still no storage, no laptop space as they say and no rain shower. Very basic service and if you leave any stain on anything they will charge you. 1 towel a day for beach. Nice beach area. Cannot bring your own food or liquor to anywhere but your room. Not as advertised.

The property is small but very quaint. Be sure to reserve on the Boutique side as the rooms are a bit bigger and much nicer with access to the pool and beach. The service was excellent and everyone was very nice and polite.

The staff was so friendly and would go out off thier way to help you . 1 staff in pictular Hector was so helpful with everything and spoke so good English to help out all off the staff . Massage ladies were awesome Even front staff were there to help when ever you needed them

Amazing place!

Absolutely the worst hotel I have ever been! We booked a room with sea view.. our room was nowhere near to a sea view.. it only has a window sliding door to the pool.. from top to bottom it was filthy.. all the walls bedsheets tv bathroom everything was nasty. The bathroom sink was outside the bathroom in the closet. They offered to change our room and the next one was even worse. The staff was completely rude , they answered everything in irony and not helpful at all.. they said all hotels in mexico are the same and that their home bathroom is the same in regards to water flow. They charged a whole day of 100$ for a room that we never slept or took a shower as the water wasn’t running. Overalll dirty, rude and disrespectful.

We needed a place to stay for a single night that was close to the ferry so we could continue our journey to Cozumel the next day. Kinta Kan fit the bill perfectly and was very inexpensive to boot. It is right on the water but not all rooms are created equal. We paid a bit extra for a beach view and got exactly what we expected. The beach club has a small bar, plenty of chairs, a pool, and a restaurant. Last call for food is at 5:30 pm. Breakfast was included and served with great views of the beach and a nice breeze. Food was adequate but nothing to brag about. Pros: great location for walking around Playa, great price for what we were looking for, very friendly staff. Adults only so no kid noise. Hotel has been updated and was clean including linens and towels. Cons: Paper thin walls and thatched roof made every single noise - birds, girls in the next room, people on the beach, the club down the street - sound as if it was in your room with you. Very small rooms - that was fine with us but some people might not like it.

Cheap, great location, friendly staff

Loved it small but nice

I'll start from the beginning. We were trying to get to this place via a car. No parking anywhere close. They close down 5th Ave so you cannot get to it. It took us over 1 hour to figure this out. We had to park several miles down the road in a parking garage and take a cab. Once we got there we waited 20 minutes to be greeted. There was someone in front of us trying to negotiate the room price that didn't have a reservation. After 20 minutes they still didn't end up staying there. We finally got checked in and they escorted us to our room. When the open the door there was cockroach on the bed. The lady seemed to panic and said I hate bugs, I'll be right back. When she came back she had a broom and raid spray. She proceeded to spray raid all over the room and covered the entire bed with RAID! THE ROOM SMELT HORRIBLE. Not to mention raid all over the bed we were supposed to sleep in. It started to make my wife and I cough. She then said we can just open the door and let it air out. We objected and asked for a new room. We paid for the beach front suite. Our new room was a small interior room with no view next to the pool with loud music. It was 10:00pm at this point. She said she would give us a free breakfast for our trouble. Breakfast was already included with our to room stay. They offered us nothing more. Not even the discount for the room downgrade from beachfront to an interior room.
