Vallorcine Apartments

We were a group of 4 skiing. Apart from the very bad weather which closed all means of getting to the hotel, we had a great time. We were 5 minutes from a ski lift which took us to a large array of slopes. 10 minutes from the next town and on our door step were 4 restaurants and a couple of bars. The residence was clean, well equipped and the staff were VERY accommodating. We were often asking questions about the area and the staff excellent in providing assistance. The hotel pool and sauna were lovely, although they did close at 8pm. Similarly the shop was nice but again had limited opening hours. I think we would all happily stay there again, although the weather did pose a bit of a challenge in accessing Vallorcine at first. However this was apparently the worst weathe rfor 30-40 years so its ot something you can plan for.

I have stayed at this hotel on two previous occasions and been very happy. However, this experience was simply unacceptable and I question if I will ever stay again. Firstly, we were told on arrival that although we had booked two nights that we would have to change rooms after one night. We were told that this could be any time after 11am and as the majority of the party was skiing that hotel staff would assist in moving rooms with regard to suitcases and food etc of 5 guests. My wife stayed in waiting all day for a move that actually never occurred until late afternoon which meant she missed the skiing day and nobody from the hotel was available to help with the room relocation. In the 2nd room the television did not work and even though my wife asked was never rectified! Sadly, due to location the worst was still to occur. The lifts were closed at Vallorcine and the road to the other local areas was shut. I was told by reception that this would not be a problem as the tunnel of the trainline is used to allow cars to pass. However, we did manage to ski at Grand Montet but the road and the tunnel were closed all evening meaning we could not get back to the hotel. As previously explained my wife had waited in to change rooms which meant that myself and 3 adult children were separated from my wife and had immense stress as to what we could do. The hotel was not as helpful as we would have wished for. Upon return the next day at midday the manager wanted us to check out.Awful!

We had fun for the stay the residence is very nice the location is ok but unfortunally because to much snow we were block in the hotel because no trasportation.internet from my appartament was no goodbat all and the shower head was to low kid size for the rest very nice all the staff was very kind thank you

The snow was fantastic. The ***** hotel was well below the standard of **** ski hotels we have stayed at over the years, in my opinion I would say the worse. My reasons are, we knew we had to supply everything but did not expect to supply toilet paper, the super market next door was a joke when it was open. Breakfast in the hotel café was 15 euros per head (European) ham, cheese boiled egg etc. No bar, no alcohol, no restaurant. I could go on and on. We had to vacate our room before 10am and only after they inspected the condition we left it in. It was cleaner than when we arrived. Not value for money. If you consider this hotel to save money think again, the cost of food and daily essentials is high if you can find them. The old saying, Cheap is Dear.

Fantastic value , superb apartment wth stunning view and quiet . Top facilities with swim/sauna/spa/fitness stuff even a rowing machine , who could want more ? Many walks from the front door and then lots of fun stuff for kids TT/giant chess/crazy golf and more. Must return and take the kids ! Found by chance on Expedia with really good deal.

Out of season stay so a little isolated and few eating options. In season (winter) this would be a great quiet alternative to the busy towns around. 2bdrm apartment was large, comfy and quiet.

Excellent and very relaxing and location very good.

Having seen that this was described as 5 star on Expedia we had high expectations. It has a pool and spa facilities which we did not use. It has no restaurants, no food shop but a tiny tea room that is meant to sell Pizza and Lasagne but had none.... You have to clean the room yourself and put your bedding in the bath or get fined 150 Euros. Bedding and pillows were uncomfortable / cheap. Never again !

Staff was outstanding. Grocery store excellant. Day hiking fabulous. Lift reasonably priced!

Great and quite place for family. . Good for hiking.A lot children activities,golf,swiming pool,chess,billiard. Absolutly Will be back again
