The property was a convenient stay from the airport. James is very nice and friendly.

There were several aspects were “off”. We had a “deluxe double” at 193£ ($267) which I believe was the only room left since I always book a king bed if available. The description of the place and rooms made it sound extra nice, but in reality, it was way overpriced. The room was quite small and not beautifully decorated as described. This was NOT peak season, it was early May. We arrived after 9:00 pm and had to pay an extra 25£ ($33) which we were told in advance. I have never had to pay for a late check-in, and with the high room rate it seemed extreme. Other places utilize a lockbox with keys and provide instructions as opposed to staying up late. Since our plane arrived after 9pm, we decided to utilize their “shuttle service” provided which was supposed to follow our flight and pick us up in a timely manner. In reality, we were asked to text when we got to the outdoor pickup spot. Then James contacted a driver, which took a bit of time, who then came to get us. It was cold outside where we were told to wait and it took at least a 1/2 hr. This cost £25 ($33) and I don’t know what it would have cost if we just took a taxi since James just called a driver and paid him, as opposed to having an actual in-house shuttle driver. Last, just a weird one. The bathroom light could not be turned on or off. It was on an occupancy sensor and timer and stayed on a long time (5-10 minutes) after you left the bathroom. So during the night, even with the door closed, the light showed through the door edges. This is more of a functional airport stay, which should have been 1/2 the price.

The only minor thing, would have liked a more powerful shower.

The property was close to Birmingham NEC and in a lovely town with amenities. It was clean and fresh and bright. James was very helpful and welcoming.

It is not a don’t like, more a helpful point. Our rooms were up two steep flights of steps and one person in the party struggled with this. If steep steps a struggle I’d let James know, he is lovely and I’m sure will accommodate.

Great breakfast with a brilliant set of options available to choose from. Rooms and clean and simple, exactly what was needed after a day of travel and work. Available Wi-Fi was great, no issues with connectivity for personal and work use.
