"Rustic chic Bed and Breakfast in Red Hook."

8.0

This is a small bnb with 7 rooms in a modern structure. Most rooms have a balcony and a pretty view of the harbor. It is a no frills comfortable stay. Good mattress and pillows, and good AC for sleeping. My one complaint is that the bed had no blanket, duvet or coverlet. Good sheets, and a decorative, small throw. By the time I realized there was no blanket the lady who runs things had gone for the day. There is no staff at night. The rooms all open up to a central living space and it has comfortable couches, tables at the terrace where breakfast is served and a nice bookshelf with lots of beach novels. The lady who runs things ( Jani) and her son are lovely and made us a simple but delicious breakfast. I do think the value is quite high for a bed and breakfast set up. Our bedroom, Hermosa, had a balcony, an en-suite bathroom and a queen bed. There is a small fridge with water and beer for purchase at a very reasonable cost. There is also a tv in room but we did not use. Overall a pleasant stay. You can walk to restaurants at the Red Hook marina, and the local bus ( safari) picks up nearby and will take you into Charlotte Amalie for 2$ a person. It's a pleasant way to see the island and contribute to the local economy. We recommend Hook'd nearby for a good meal and generous drinks.

We are extremely grateful for the last minute accommodations after a disaster with The Breeze. Property was clean, hostess very friendly, courteous and professional. The location is great for all kinds of activities. Walking distance to Red Hook Marina, local restaurants, ice cream, ferry to St John, etc. Short drive to Magens beach, Coki Beach and Sapphire beach. Highly recommend renting a car, cabs are pretty pricey, the charge by the person which is strange.

Convenient to Red Hook. Not impressed with the amenities. Had to pay for drinkable water, as they don’t recommend drinking the water there. Not a lot of bang for your buck.

We liked the view and having our own balcony with a swing. Loved having breakfast every morning outside on the balcony. Liked the security and staff was awesome. The walk to the sops/restaurants was tricky some days. Steep hills, very busy road and one corner is kind of a party hangout at night. But that is solved by getting a taxi ride. Close to ferry to take you over to St. John’s.

This should not be called a boutique hotel. There is nothing boutique about it . The pictures do not accurately represent the property. The hotel is set on a hill it has no property around it that you can access. There is a balcony with two high top tables on it that overlook the busy road. There is one main common room with a desk for the office where you check in and the guest rooms are all off that one main room. There is no staff at the hotel at night . The rooms are very basic they have a bed and table or two no dressers or closets, one or two lamps and not all the rooms have a TV . The view from the rooms overlooks a busy road with power lines a school and a small sewage station occasionally you get a terrible small from it. There is a small view of the water on one side. I was extremely disappointed and felt like the pictures on their website were misleading and overpriced for what you really get .

Beautiful place with a pretty view. It is also near a noisy water plant. The owner has put noise canceling machines in every room so that helps. The road to town is somewhat dangerous (no crosswalk and no sidewalks in parts) but is is close to town if you can handle that and a very, very steep driveway.

The property known as Two Sandals is sometimes advertised as a boutique hotel, but in reality, it doesn't quite live up to that label. Although the property was clean and well-maintained, the hotel room itself was minimally furnished with older and somewhat worn-out pieces, with some even showing signs of disrepair. While the breakfast provided was adequate, it wasn't quite on par with what one might expect from a more upscale establishment, and in fact, comparable or even better offerings can be found at budget hotel chains. On a positive note, the staff members, all of whom were female, were friendly and accommodating. However, when it came to local knowledge, they were somewhat lacking, and were not able to offer much in the way of advice or information about the surrounding area.
