The White Horse Inn

I didn't state a preference for a quiet room. Good location for me, and having stayed before knew food and bed would be good.

Nothing springs to mind.

Ambience, friendly service, great food, great value for money., great location, near national trust places to visit. Lovely bathroom very new. Very comfortable bed. We really liked it. Breakfast was lovely

Room was chilly when we arrived however the staff resolved immediately. It would have been better if the heating was on in advance

Extremely friendly service from all staff. Cosy room which felt more like an apartment with sofa. Great place to catch up with an old friend with good local walks and great food and drink back in the pub after.

Leuk typisch Engels verblijf. Heerlijk gegeten bij het haardvuurtje. Lekker en volledig ontbijt. Hele vriendelijke mensen.

The room (well - ROOMS- our twin had a separate television, so it was more like a suite on two levels) was great. The beds were firm, the linen, pristine. The bathroom was clean and very warm... The restaurant in the main building is authentic and of its time (meaning: admire the fire, the beams, and the need to duck - often)... Local artists' work on the walls is admirable. The food (pheasant for husband; vegetarian for me) was EXCELLENT. The location is superb - you can see The White Horse as you travel in... the beautiful local church is just minutes's walk away... And special shoutout to Zach, who worked all hours, and always had a smile.

Only one thing needs improvement, and not everyone might agree. The free WI-FI is very up and down. A paid option was available (didn't try it). To be honest? If you're REALLY here for the reason you should be - nature and peace - then best advice is do as we did- worry about the wi fi for 20 minutes, then put your phone in your pocket, and be present where you are. Transforming :)

Staff are really helpful, even providing alternative packed lunch when we needed one early breakfast before kitchen was open. The room was superb, more like a one bedroom house, with plenty of tea, coffee etc. It had a great bathroom and having a lounge downstairs is great if one person wants to go to bed earlier than the other. Instructions for arriving after hours were also really helpful as it was very dark by the time we arrived after everything was closed. Also really close to Uffington White Horse which you can see from main road above the village.

Nothing. The lanes are narrow but you're in the country so expected.

Lovely little apartment with bathroom upstairs. Staff were really friendly and helpful, food for evening meal and breakfast was delicious. We just took one packed lunch for our walk and that was just right.

A slightly larger desk area would be ideal but understand there are space issues.
