Grand Hotel Rinascimento

My cousin booked the room at this hotel. We stayed 4 days and 4 nights. Aside from my cousin's snoring, which could peel off wallpaper, I would say this was an altogether very nice experience staying here. The staff, though seemingly few, were all pleasant-mannered, attentive, and helpful. One of the men at the front desk made a call for us (we don't speak Italian) to a distant relation of ours, whom we didn't know, leading to us meeting some of our Italian relatives for the first time days later. The staff did make an effort to speak what little English they knew, which made my cousin feel a little more at ease. Breakfast was stocked with various pastries, juices, meats, cheeses. Coffee was brought promptly. Dinner each night was relaxed, the food fresh and tasty. Our server each night was also worked at the front desk in the morning. He seemed to work long hours, but always had a friendly demeanor. Our room was spacious and clean, the bathroom clean and cozy. The shower sometimes took some time to heat up, but everything was otherwise fine. Wi-Fi service was spotty, at times. Overall, the hotel appears to be kept in good shape. This is not the most luxurious hotel around, but it is far from a dump. I enjoyed my time there and I would recommend giving this place a chance if you will be in town.

I stayed there for 7 days. I had a room that could only be entered through another room. The rooms were clean and we had someone cleaning them every morning. I really appreciated that. Unfortunately, some of the rooms had no windows and I cannot stay without having windows so I took the room which had windows. The breakfast was very poor, consisted of many biscuits and very few cooked thing and we had no vegetables. The lunch we took at 1PM was also poor from my point of view- one dish, mainly it was pasta and sometimes dessert (watermelon). The dinner was served too late at 8/ 8.30 PM and consisted of 2 dishes plus sometimes dessert. I would have appreciated more if the lunch was more consistent and the dinner was smaller. The owner was really nice, he would serve us the meals most of the time. The receptionist, Antonio was really nice and really helpful. We had a training there but I wouldn't say it was the best location, it's not actually suited for this type of activity. Also, a very important aspect, the wifi was not working on the 2nd floor rooms, but did worked in the reception area.

This hotel is a good basic hotel, it's near the main town, but is also good for conferences, weddings, parties so it can be a little noisy, otherwise a comfortable stay.

No internet wi fi service, tv not working, light bulbs out, no mini bar, 1 glass in room, no one spoke English, cramped shower stall, food was good and staff tried to help but with language barrier it was difficult.. Would not stay there again

The review on Hotels.com said the hotel had the following amenities: ceiling fan, mini bar, slippers, bathtub and shower, air conditioning, many stations on the 22" TV. Let me just say that our room as on the 3rd floor and there was no ceiling fan, no mini bar, no slippers, no bathtub, TV not working and the air conditioning was terrible. The architecture was lovely and the food was good. NO ONE at the hotel spoke English but the staff was very friendly and tried to be helpful...as much as could be expected when we didn't understand each other. The housekeeping was not up to the star rating that was given. There was only one glass in the room also. There was a small refrigerator. The overhead light had 6 fixtures but only 3 lightbulbs. The shower was very small and in general the hotel was very outdated and it's quite a distance from the central historical district of Campobasso. There is nothing around this hotel that can be walked to with the exception of a supermarket and a bank. It was a disappointment but served its purpose. We tried calling down to the reception desk to have the air conditioning looked at, the TV looked at and we wanted ice and another glass. No one answered at the front desk and we just gave up and went to sleep....after we killed the huge bee that was flying around the room.

It was only one night, but it was very good, comfortable room and great service.

It was great, wouldn't have minded staying a few more days, and one of the managers, escorted me to the train station next day. They have a supergenerous breakfast and they serve dinner, a 3 course meal with a drink at a very reasonable price. About half what you would pay at an outside restaurant.

This hotel lived up to its name of 'Grand' with its design and architecture from another age. Our very large room was situated on the top floor and was accessed from the most amazing circular landing. Nearby was a roof terrace with spectacular views over Campobasso and the surrounding countryside. The view was particularly impressive the next morning with clouds below the tops of the nearby hills. Our one night stay was in the middle of May and it appeared that the hotel was not yet ready for visitors. Our room was quite cold and many of the lighting's bulbs were not working. A bedside lamp had no plug. The staff were very welcoming and most helpful, making every effort to switch on the heating, replace bulbs, and fitting a plug. On going to the restaurant for dinner, we found it in darkness, but again the staff were most helpful in providing us with an excellent meal. An enjoyable stay, and we will long remember the hotel for its amazing architecture, wonderful murals, and helpful staff.
