Dormy Inn Matsumoto Natural Hot Spring

Very conveniently located about 10 minutes from Matsumoto station and short walk from Nakamachi Street. We arrived at the hotel parking lot at around 4:30pm but saw the sign parking lot full. We were then directed by the hotel staff I think responsible for parking matters to park at a parking lot just next door. Dormy Inn is a well-known business hotel good for a short stay and provide convenience. Check in was smooth and at hotels like this you need to settle payment at check in. There is free apple juice available in the lobby. We booked a relatively bigger size room by this hotel standard, though still not really big. The doorstep at the washroom is a bit tricky that may pose danger to guests. The hotel has an onsen bath on the top floor with both indoor and outdoor bath. That is nice in a city hotel. You do not have to much room to maneuver, but if you do not spend much time inside the room it is ok. Cold and warm air conditioning is provided, other amenities is all available. Washing basin is located outside of washroom so it is more convenient. Another benefit is that free ramen (noodle in soup) is available to all guests in the night time from 9:30 to 11:00pm, though portion is about half the normal size. We went to a cafe nearby for breakfast, in fact there are quite many nice restaurants in the area accessible by walking.

Stayed one night after visiting the alpine route. The hotel is located in the walkable distance from the JR station (just walk straight then you can see the hotel). There’s a number of restaurants nearby. The outdoor onsen is very nice (probably one of the best in Dormy Inn) and the free ramen at night is a highlight. However, the room is not very clean and some dusts are found in the table, tissue box, and tv.

The room is relatively bigger and the toilet and basin are separated. It's good if 2 or more persons are sharing the room. There is a sliding door in the room which helps to filter noise too. Breakfast is not a wide spread as international buffet but hearty Japanese style and a small corner for Western bread and waffles. Great if you want to have Japan experience.

Staff friendly and helpful. Close to train station. Room was clean, comfy beds. Spa also very clean and pleasant with all amenities. Breakfast was delicious. Would definitely stay again.

We had been very happy with the Dormy Inn in Nagasaki Shinchi in 2013, so we did not hesitate to book this Dormy Inn when its location was convenient to where we want to go in Matsumoto. We booked a 236 sq-ft "Standard Twin Room Non-Smoking", and were assigned Rm 606. I did not like the layout of the room at all, instead of a long and skinny room our room was short and wide, with a wash basin to the right, the shower/toilet to the left, and a sliding door dividing this area from the sleeping area. As a result, the sleeping area was crowded, I did not feel it was as roomy as what I expected from a 236 sq-ft room. PRO: good location, friendly staff, laundry machine and onsen on site. CON: The lobby and the adjacent breakfast area had a persistent fly-oil smell in the air from cooking in the kitchen. I think management needs to do something about this.

We chose this hotel due to its location close to the Station and the T.A rating, but we found it really ordinary and really expensive in comparison to other hotels that we stayed in during our 8 weeks in Japan. We paid 24,000Y for a Double Room and luckily we were there for just 1 night, using it as the staging point for the Alpine Route. Our room was tiny, the double bed was pushed up against the wall. The shower/toilet room covered about a metre square (3 feet square). Just as well we had our luggage transferred to our next hotel as we couldn't have fitted ourselves and the bags in the room at the same time. It was a dowdy room, just so lucky the weather was nice and we weren't cooped up in this depressing space. The best thing that I can say about this hotel were the staff, who despite limited English were super sweet and very efficient. There must be better places to stay at this price level or lower in Matsumoto. This is probably the first time we have been super disappointed in a hotel with a good TA review in 10 years of travelling.

ออกจากสถานี ลากกระเป๋าเดินตรงไปถนนหลักอย่างเดียว โรงแรมอยู่ฝั่งขวามือ ติดแยกซอยที่ 3 ระหว่างทางจะผ่านร้าน Family mart ร้านราเมง(อร่อย) ทางโรงแรมมีบริการราเมงมื้อดึกให้ตอน 9:30 เชคอินแล้ว ออกจากโรงแรม เดินตรงขึินไปสี่แยกที่มี Family mart ตรงมุมบนขวา เลี้ยวซ้าย ข้ามแยก เดินตรงตลอดโลด สุดทางที่ปราสาทมัตสึโมโต้เที่ยวก่อนเลยค่ะ บ่าย ค่ำ ดึก ก็เปิดตลอด โดยเฉพาะแสงยามเย็นหน้าร้อน ทำให้ฉากหลังปราสาทเปลี่ยนสีตลอดจนถึงตอนเล่นไฟกลางดึกเลย เที่ยวเหนื่อยซก แช่สปาคลายเมื่อย เตียงนอนนุ่ม หลับสนิท ตื่นสดชื่น มีพลังเที่ยวต่อได้ค่ะ หน้าร้อน พักที่มัตสึโมโต้ ต้องออกเที่ยวเช้าตรู่เพื่อต่อรถรอบแรกๆ ไปคามิโกชิ หรือ hakuba-happo จะได้ treaking ได้ทั้งวัน วิวทุ่งนารอบเมืองมัตสึโมโต้ เวลานั่งรถไฟผ่าน สวยที่สุดเลย

close to the train station, clean rooms, free rooftop onsen, plus when we went they were doing free late night ramen for all guests which was a nice touch. We didnt buy the breakfast option as we were leaving before breakfast opened the next day.

We stayed for two nights. This hotel is located close to the train station and the loop buses route. The breakfast did not have the regular western food options but the Japanese options were doable. The staff was friendly. The only reason I could not rate this hotel higher than avearage is due to the disgusting condition of the box springs for the two beds. They need to be trashed. Considering what we paid per night this was not expected. I attached pics. Providing a safe in the room would also be helpful.
