Absolutely beautiful place, with stunning surroundings. Very clean and spacious rooms. The facilities were outstanding and staff were more than accommodating.

Lovely place and very welcoming and friendly staff. Room was lovely and spacious with very nice biscuits and coffee and herbal tea. Attention to detail made the difference to other hotels I've stayed in.

I had to point out that the main glass shade in the bedroom needed a serious dusting. There were a few issues with my husbands meal but they dealt with it perfectly.

Sandsend is a beautiful location, the hotel has potential. It was great to be able to walk to places like Mary's Sandwich Shop and The Fish Cottage. We paid for spa treatments, the spa therapists were incredible, highly professional and the pregnancy massage I had was once of the best treatments I've ever had.

Eighteen months after a major renovation, I expected a higher standard. The finish and upkeep of the rooms were disappointing. We stayed in the Waters Edge cottage that allows pets. It is priced at a premium, yet the carpets were worn and visibly dirty. If you travel with a dog you cannot access the nicer rooms that include a bath, and there is still an additional pet fee on top of the already high room rate. The rooms are also extremely warm due to underfloor heating, and the temperature is difficult to regulate. Spa access is expensive and poorly structured. I was charged £45 per person for just two hours in the spa, on top of the room rate and treatment prices, with no reduction for guests staying overnight. On a second visit we had unlimited access, but the pool was full of families and children playing with balls and toys. That felt at odds with a property positioning itself as a luxury spa retreat and made the experience confusing. Before arriving I contacted the hotel to let them know we were visiting for my husband’s special birthday and that I was pregnant. Despite this, we found a bottle of prosecco waiting in the room, which completely missed the mark and felt thoughtless rather than personal. Food is expensive and only average in quality. Service is inconsistent. Breakfast can be good on some days, but standards vary. For example, coffee sometimes arrived poorly prepared, and the French toast was raw in the middle on one occasion. Overall, the property markets itself as a luxury stay but does not deliver at that level. It photographs well and looks great on Instagram or TikTok, but the actual experience falls short. Given the price, there are better places offering a higher standard and better value.

It was a great room with a comfy bed.

The large shower head wasn't very powerful so switched to the hand held one.
