The Stonefence Resort

I always enjoy staying at the Stonefence. They are upgrading the pool area so that wasn't available to swim in, but the beautiful river was! I hope that opening the restaurant will work out for them (they were doing a "soft opening" during the stay). I loved my lunch out on the patio, reading my book and seeing the river.

Everything was good..they advertised a continental breakfast , no pans of food were out but they cooked to order promptly instead and food was good. Our room was a little dated and had uncomfortable beds but service was great air worked good all was clean amd looked as if our area just hadnt gotten the updates yet as the resort looked like allmother buildings had just been remodeled. Would definitely stay there again..also kod friendly tennis courts, shuffle board, playground bounce house...pool was under construction but looked like it will be awesome.

I have been to Stonefence Resort several times over the years. I absolutely love this place! Everyone is so friendly and helpful at Stonefence. The setting is breathtaking on the St. Lawrence River. My room was quiet, clean and comfortable with incredible views. I had delicious meals in their restaurant( and I am very picky). I cannot wait to go back next year. I always feel welcome and cozy when I am here. My family will love the new lazy river next year!

Nice place on the St. Lawrence River. Great water views from you room/deck. The air conditioner is old so it takes some time to cool down the room.

Great location and very big property that very poorly managed! Despite the good potential, it fails at every level. Out of half empty hotel, despite the request for a water view, we were offered a room with one window overlooking the parking lot. Not very welcoming. The restaurant on the property has very limited choices of sandwiches and burgers. No salads, no main dishes. The breakfast in the morning ( despite the properly equipped kitchen that we saw through the open door) was very unpleasant. Old, old, old thin coffee, that was sitting there forever. It has a film floating on the top. Couple of cereals choices, bread in the store packaging. They even did not bother to take a long danish out of the grocery store package (the price tag was still on, see for yourself). The breakfast is served on paper plates, and if you want to find a knife, even the plastic one, you will not find one. The above mentioned danish we were trying to cut with the serving tongs, while the staff was just watching us doing so. We ended up finishing breakfast in the room with our own fruits and greek yogurt. It could be a nice place in someone's caring hands. We will NOT return there and NOT suggesting to our friends! Do not stay there! couple of great places nearby, less that a mile.

Beautiful views of the St. Lawrence river. The original building is dated, but the rooms are spacious, quaint and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful and the breakfast is excellent. Unlike a lot of hotels these days, there is also actual maid service. I was surprised that someone actually made the bed during my 2 night stay.

Booked a room on the river months in advance & at ck in was informed I had townhouse! Not on river and steep stairs. I am handicapped & fell on stairs. Had to sleep on rollout couch for remainder of visit. Decor is very antiquated . One plus the lady running restaurant was a great asset & breakfast was great!

Great little place to spend time with family.
