HKbreakfast is not the top but good enough. Buffet in winter season is practical can cater skiing guests fast so it doesn't bother me. Everything else are perfect especially the staff are just so kind, helpful, and able to help. The location is perfect. For more insight to others, driving there is super convenient. Parking lot is good enough, location is easy to access comparing to living more upper mountain. Can ski in and out for sure, backside of hotel can directly jump into a hidden slope to 西館山 (don't worry it's green line level), and can get back hotel by 蓮池 side. i.e. Even if the day is super heavily snowing that you cannot drive, you are still able to ski. Onsen in the hotel is good too. good temperature.

JP山の駅から近くて奥志賀方面にも横手山方面にも、どちらのスキー場にも行くのに大変便利です。 風呂の脱衣場に十分な暖房がかかっていて、風呂上りに全然寒さを感じませんでした。 売店で買ったカップ麺やカップカレー用にポットが用意されており、湯を入れてすぐ隣の休憩スペースで食べられたのがよかったです。
夕食バイキングのカレーの保温温度がもうちょっと高めだったらよかったのになと思います。

SGRoom consists of 2 twin bed and also futons provided too enough for 4 pax. Love the onsen bath in the basement floor. Breakfast spread n varieties not that much but local japanese style breakfast sufficient n tasty. Appreciate there is also convenience shop on 1st floor.
The room n bathroom are slightly old n dated
NZThe hotel is very large and old and a bit run down. But it is in a wonderful location right by Shiga Lake and you are within walking distance of the Shiga Kogen ski fields. My family of five (three boys 11,14,16) stayed for 3 nights in a traditional Japanese room and slept on futons on the floor. The food served for breakfast is true Japanese food which is so different for us from NZ but it was great to experience. The rooms are clean and warm. The staff are helpful although their English is minimal. There is an Onsen (public bath) in the hotel which is another true Japanese experience we really enjoyed. If you are not fussy, I would highly recommend staying here for a couple of nights.
We really enjoyed our stay but what I disliked was the value for money. It is very expensive for a pretty basic place. But I guess you are paying for the location which is wonderful.

AUBreakfast & dinner were buffet style & very good, not a lot of dining options in the area, would recommend the dining option. They have a nice shop where you can get basics needs, all the staff are great, very polite & accommodating
No real comfy lounge area where you can hang out after skiing, they have this room where you can go which is OK but it is walled off & feels a bit confining.
