Himawari Hotel Apartments

The apartment was huge, it felt really safe and it was very very quiet. Comfortable bed and large walk in closet area which was handy for making us feel more at home and have our bags out of sight for once. There is 24hour security who are very friendly and a real asset to the hotel. I would stay again if I found myself in Phnom Penh.

The room was tired, bathtub needs a good descale, and toilet made a screaming noise when flushed. We could occasionally hear a neighbours loo doing the same. The internet wouldn’t work when trying to connect with our VPN and a few of the things that were advertised on our listing were not in our room just small things like a fruit bowl etc but it didn’t really affect our stay. Pool was nice and refreshing but doesn’t allow you to take your own drinks which meant we were forced to buy a bottle of water for $6!!! Breakfast doesn’t cater well to western palate however you are in Asia so that should be a given.

I was impressed with Himawari's team - they're all excellent, friendly, and super helpful! Ms Sothea and the Housekeeping staff stood out, but everyone went above and beyond to accommodate our needs 🙏. Great experience overall.

My room was excellent. No questions or complaints at all. Personal is amazingly helpful and friendly. Location is 10 stars 🌟 Cleanliness is 10 stars 🌟 WiFi is 10 stars 🌟 Lots of restaurants around. No complaints.

I had an apartment. Although it was older, it was very well maintained and clean. We booked because it was very close to the boat dock and we were with elderly people. So the location was perfect. The pool area was very nice, too. The staff was very friendly.

I didn't like that although the bathroom was huge in the apartment, you had to climb into the bathtub to take a shower. That is very difficult especially for elderly people. The breakfast was really bad! Actually not the food itself but the service/management. The food in the bain-maries was cold, and nothing was refilled except upon request, just like everything else. The bread refills should have been planned much more proactively, as it needed to be baked for at least 10 minutes, which apparently wasn't enough, since it was still frozen solid inside. The wait for freshly prepared eggs and waffles was too long with only one station/cook. The tables were never cleared, so the used dishes piled up until the very end. Another thing was the Marmoset monkey in the cage. That was very sad to see as they are never solitary in nature. They live in tight family groups.
