"A budget stay in an overpriced city ( El Salvador)"

6.0

The good: =) Location is good for safety and close to nearby attractions ( walk distance during day time) to Zona Rosa and museums ( Anthropologt and Arts Museum). Acontaxis ( radio call taxis) are just a few meters away. Free breakfast is decent, yet it has a short window time to enjoy it ( 7am / 9am). The room was clean and ok. Staff was friendly. The city views from the upper floor are great. There is a grocery store nearby which is great as the room I stayed at had a mini fridge. Two fast food restaurants are immediately across the streets and a bank is next to the hotel. The staff appear helpful and attentive. The not so good: =( The swimming pool does not appear to be inviting nor heated and it appears to be more like a concret pond inside an enclosed upper floor deck than a relaxing swimming pool. The fitness equipement is non functional, the single treadmill and the eliptical machine are broken and are seating on the upper floor deck without any arragement for it to be functional. The Hotel needs improvements, A/C units have some age ( randomly shut off) and the windows are not sound proof, so even if they are closed you can hear the noise from the heavy traffic going by. Overall the hotel is in clean condition but needs to be renewed, a side from the flat panel TVs in the rooms the rest of the hotel seems to date back to late 90s. Also, the breakfast time should be extended to cover those who depart early ( 6am) to those who sleep late ( 10am). My stay: 9 nights during November 2011, single room 3rd floor.

"Cheap hotel - sad experience"

4.0

Travelling to El Salvador, I spent some days in the capital. From the international airport to downtown El Salvador, it takes about 30 minutes; a taxi costs aprox. USD 25. The climate in October is hot and mostly very humid For the hotel Capital you find information on their website or even on the Expe..a website: Shiny beautyful pictures - a good looking hotel. At least on the website. I booked this hotel, because of it´s convinient location (close to reach the places where I had to go for business); and because I am not willing to pay the exaggerated tariffs of the international hotels in El Salvador. I made my booking through the mentioned website; tariffs around USD 55/night; breakfast and free WIFI included; single room. Walking from reception to my room, my mood was coming down - and when I arrived in my room and looked at the details, it reached an absolute minimum. See pictures. The size´of the room was OK; the minibar possibly was meant to be for ascetic people, because it was empty. The floor; with cigarret marks on it. Burned. The wallpaper in the bathroom was coming off at several places. The shower was a kind of weak; not a lot of pressure. It urgently needs some maintenance. Positive aspects: it was relatively clean! Internet access was stable and good; and the room relativly quiet. Breakfast: buffet - but very limitid variety With real windows to open. Plus the air-condition and the television were functional as well. It´s a 1 minute walk to a super-slectos supermarket where you find food, drinks. Only 5 minutes by taxi to the "Gran via" area with a large variety of international stores, boutiques, and restaurants... Trying to do some sports and taking the adventerous walk from the 7th to the 8th floor where the "pool" and the "gym" are located: A dangerous stair; holes in the wall, dark - it looked like in a horror movie... The gym: A dirty, ugly storage area of old 100% NON-functional equipment! The pool: See pictures and judge for yourself. Disgusting! If you don´t plan to do any sports and are happy with a small breakfast-buffet, spending very little money - it´s an alternative.

"Hotel Capital- not a Guest Friendly Hotel"

2.0

I reached at Hotel Capital on July 26, 2011 and this is my 3rd night, extremely uncomfortable. the entire hotel ambience is depressing and there is no one who understand English here. How can they accept bookings form International guests when they can not even understand their guests' requirements. I am extremely uncomfortable here and need your support in fixing this issue, as I can not even find anyone who can understand my problem. Can you please talk to the hotel so that some one who speaks English can is always available for International Guests or you recommend a hotel to me which is International Guests friendly. Please treat this urgently, as I am extremely upset with my stay here. Regards, Devender
