Orchid Residences - HR Surfers Paradise

Amazing location, big enough to be able to relax as a family of 4 needing space for a extended holiday

A few smaller issues, plug in main bathroom was stuck down, the vacuum was over full so we had to clean it out but it still didn’t vacuum great but general wear and tear of a home.

Location

The smell of chemicals when we first walked inside but after opening the doors it was better. Having to pick up the keys from down the road around the corner.

Location - It is situated in the Hilton, which is in the middle of Surfers Paradise and directly on Caville Avenue where all the pubs and nightclubs are. No more than a 5 minute walk to the beach and to activities like Timezone. View - We were situated on the 25th floor with full beachfront views of the beach with the main bedroom having full ground to ceiling windows which made it amazing to wake up to. Room - Room was well kept and modern furniture. Plenty of space for 4 adults with a two bedroom room. Facilities - Gym is good for a hotel. Included a rower, cross trainer, treadmill and free weights. There was also a large outdoor pool, as well as an indoor pool and sauna.

Staff - Due to being rental properties. Staff are not situated at the Hilton and Hilton staff cannot help you. We had no issues to need staff but if we did, I believe it would be quite hard to arrange things as you would be contacting them via the booking.com website. Cleaning - The cleaning staff both for the room and in the hallways, seem to use an old vacuum that really needs cleaning. Every time you got out of the elevator as well as entered your room, you would smell that typical “off” smell when someone has used an old vacuum that needed replacing. Leaving the property - One of the signs in the room states “if excessive cleaning is required you will be charged an extra $275 for the cleaning.” We did not trash the place, but my wife and I found that misleading and felt like we were doing a rental inspection as we did not want to be charged for an excessive cleaning fee. Walls - You would expect the hotel to have been sound proofed due to being in the heart of Surfers Paradise. This is not the case and even though we were on the 25th floor we found the Friday and Saturday nights quite loud. I would expect the lower levels to have a much louder experience.

This residence was supposed to be wheelchair accessible and disability friendly. It was not.

Everything, the property was well managed and offered stunning views

The location was amazing, close to beach and restaurants. Apartment was clean and beds were very comfortable.

The street noise was a bit loud at times. But other than that everything was great.

It is close to the beach and it’s only a walking distance to restaurants, tram station, mall…

The Internet was very slow, the air conditioning was centralized and set to a temperature that we found very warm at night, I didn’t like the smell of the room and the shower was not really clean.

Perfect for family and easy access. Parking was available which is really good.

The AC temperature wasn’t really working as we set up to 24 but it felt like 21 in the room.

Nice spacious rooms, comfortable and relaxing, spacious balconies. Stayed here 3 times before and always loved it

The view and the location right in the centre of everything.
