"We won't go back"

3.0

Free parking. Location in the centre of town.

Very variable staff including duty manager. Dated room. Lack of attention to detail. Noise from extract fan from kitchen. Too expensive for what we got.

"Wonderful stay in the centre of Peebles."

10.0

From checking to check out what a wonderful experience, checking was very smooth, room was lovely with a super king bed which was nice and firm. This hotel is situated in the centre of town which makes it perfect for exploring Peebles. We had food in the restaurant which was simply first class, service was excellent and staff very attentive to all. Overnight was very quite so a comfortable nights rest, breakfast was superb high quality all local Scottish fair. Above all a excellent overnight stay, can’t wait to return.

"It was a great weekend and we will definitely be back to the Tontine Hotel"

8.0

Our room was lovely and very spacious. It very central in the town centre and easy access to local walks.

One morning we had to wait over 45mins for breakfast as the hotel was very busy.

"Poor experience overall"

6.0

The staff are lovely, warm welcome for us and our two dogs. The room was basic and clean. Probably not worth what we paid for it. The food was unfortunately the worst part of our stay. 7.45 and they’d had a large group in at 7pm so our choices were limited for our taste as they’d sold out. It would be prudent to ask large parties to pre order so that your staying guests can order their preferred dish. The dishes we had were bland, cold and one of us ate nothing. We told the waitress at the time but didn’t get any feedback. The next morning on checkout we were not charge £20 for the dogs. Considering the meal was £60 plus £30 for wine and one of us didn’t eat I thought this was poor. For breakfast we were cautious, one of us had the deep fried full breakfast! I don’t think we’ll stay again.
