Room was tired and in need of a refresh

We turned up on the 16th for a family meal just after the football, only to be told there was no Chef to do meals (3 o'clock on a Saturday !), went across the road to the Crown & were quickly served with fantastic food, if visiting Peebles go to the Crown, at least they have a Chef !!

Good location and helpful staff.

I liked the motion sensor lights in the hall for at night! Also the little garden area in the hallway. Well maintained decoration and very nice.

Can’t think of anything I didn’t like!

The staff were lovely and the location was ideal. Rooms were super clean and the bar and restaurant were nice

It wasn’t peak season so the vibe was very mellow which isn’t necessarily a complaint more and observation - wise can’t really fault the hotel or the staff.

The Tontine is an interesting traditional hotel with it's own restaurant, small bar, lounge area and outdoor seating area on the street. It has a great location on Peebles main street and lovely river views to the rear which we enjoyed from our room in the modern annexe. The staff were friendly and professional. The breakfast had excellent choices. We had our other meals elsewhere but the hotel's own menu also looked good. Our room and ensuite were comfortable, stylish and very clean. Great value for money.

We had a lovely welcome by staff, and were able to get access to our room and got upgraded. When we went to the room, it was a good size and at the front of the property. the bedroom decor was nice and it was clean. The bathroom was clean. The food at the hotel was really delicious and worth the money, we chose the dinner and breakfast deal. The majority of the staff were extremely helpful. Overall we had a good stay

the bathroom was a bit of a let down it was very old fashioned and needing upgraded, the bath is needing re-enameled and the shower curtain had a bit of a smell. It was a bit noisy from outside at night, but understand that is just the position of the hotel. On our second night the dinner service was poor, it was hard to get the attention of the young servers, thankfully the manager helped us out and had a word with the servers.
