Secrets Huatulco Resort & Spa

Older resort but it is very special! Food is great, especially the preferred breakfast. The bay view is amazing. All staff are wonderful. Our favorites were Alejandro- activities Herberto- bar waiter Preferred breakfast staff- Gabriella, Ruben & Heidi Housekeeping- Yolanda UVC- Cecilia We had a wonderful relaxing time and met wonderful staff and guests.

Beautiful vacation! Very private bay, amazing pools, fantastic views, good food, fun activities, great little airport, lovely people, the area is set up so nicely and so safe! 👌🇨🇦❤️🇲🇽 We are going again in a month 🌊

The resort is showing its age especially around the pool area. The pool water was hot so not refreshing at all. The food was not great - very hit and miss, inconsistent. They could never get the temperature right either. soups were not hot nor the main courses. The view is spectacular but that doesn't make an expensive vacation great - the food and service does which they missed on both accounts. I expected a lot more from a Secrets Resort!

This is not 5 star. 3 star at best. Friendly staff, rooms were clean. Food was very mediocre. Drinks watered down. Only two types of beer. First night, the mechanical was so loud we didn’t sleep. To get a quieter room, had to pay to upgrade. Tiles in the pool falling off everywhere. Dirt in the grout lines. Spa was amazing.

In general, a positive experience. Food was generally good, with a couple exceptions. Castaways steak was overdone and tough, Castaways ‘preferred club’ à la carte breakfast was slow and server unhappy. We are not ‘foodies’ though. Two of our 4 members experienced food poisoning symptoms (Vomiting, diarrhea) during our stay. One was speculated to be from lunch sushi at the Marketplace Buffet, the other was from lettuce salad bar at the Cin Cin (Italian) restaurant. Other negatives: not enough shaded chairs, especially around the pool. Reserving chairs early AM by placing a towel or book on them became the norm, despite the resorts ‘no saving’ chairs policy. There seemed enough deck space…. purchasing additional chairs or umbrellas seems like a simple fix. Room had an amazing view, but was loud in evening from live entertainment, a request for quiet rooms could not be met. Positives…as mentioned food generally good, Pickleball court next to the pool was fun, but made errant shot recovery difficult. Hope we didn’t wake anyone with 7:00 pickleball. Activities tennis/ pickleball coach Alejandro was amazing, service at lounge chairs (pool and beach) great. Weather perfect. No biting insects that we noticed, beach swimmable (except for 2 of our 10 days), bed comfortable, resort clean. Recommend: Yes. Go again? Probably not, but that’s because we are explorers and would like something different. Not quite a 5 star review due to the issues mentioned.

Beautiful location with fantastic ocean views. Rooms are excellent with super comfortable beds. Our personal concierge Zara is very attentive and attuned to our needs. There are several good restaurants although our favorite so far is Oceana. Mahi Mahi was perfectly prepared, seafood soup was fresh and delicious. Service from our waiter, Jesus, was exceptional.

I had an unfortunate accident while vacationing at Secrets Huatulco and needed medical attention. I was lucky enough to be treated by Dr. Andres Gonzalez Ayvar. His diagnosis and treatment of my injury was decisive and accurate. He is truly a credit to his profession.

Food and beverages were great. getting to the restaurants was a lengthy walk. Too far. The outdoor activity staff was absolutely the best!! Kept us down at the pool all day. From aerobics to games at 12 to pool volleyball to bingo in the pool was awesome. The outdoor activity staff were very friendly and a pleasure to be around.

My wife and I travel often. This is probably the most picturesque of any of the resorts we have stayed at. The resort is in the process of remodeling the rooms. The staff works tremendously hard to keep the resort immaculate. The service is not what we have come to expect from other all inclusive resorts. It was somewhat spotty and almost non existent around the pool. The only two restaurants that have really good food is Castaways and Oceana. The Italian was very disappointing. Spice was okay but I have to say their Sushi was amazing. Be aware that though all rooms face the ocean they all do not have ocean views. The first floor of building 6 is all obstructed by trees and foliage. The same is true of building 5. All in all we had a great stay at this resort and the cost was very reasonable.

The resort was great. Especially enjoyed Bordeaux and our favorite server Andrea. The steaks were great. The lobby bar was also a gem. Breakfast was also very nice but recommend before 8. Loved the book exchanges throughout the resort. Very clean and loved the surrounding area.
