Parasol Inn Chiang Mai Old City

After 2 weeks in Thailand I have had my first poor service experience. I ordered a mango shake. After a small taste I queried it as it did not taste like or look like mango at all. The colour was a light yellow and it looked like pineapple and tasted like a very watered down pineapple juice. The girl looked at it and said it was pineapple. I told her I had ordered mango. She went out and came back and told me it was mango. I didn’t drink it as it did not taste like any mango I have had since arriving in Thailand. I told them I didn’t think it was mango and didn’t want it. In most cases I would have expected them to offer to take it off the bill or offer an alternative but it was whipped away and I was told I’d have to pay for it. Happy to Pay and happy to place a review. Please note this is for the Parasol Terrence Bar at Road level on the corner not the accomodation

Location is great, friendly staff.

Woke me at 7 am after unscheduled surgery that I informed them about (and needed an extra night for) asking for payment after I’d tried to pay them twice. Terrible communication.

The room was clean, spacious and nicely decorated. The bathroom had a spacious shower adequately separated from the other fixtures.

Parasol Inn is located in the heart of old Chiang Mai. Great service and staff. Only downside is government won’t allow the hotel to install elevators to the old building; so only stairs.

Not terrible, but definitely not great. Room was pretty dirty with stains on several walls, smashed bug stuck to the wall, water would not stay warm for more than about 10 minutes in the shower. The bed was awful, felt like a box spring. Compared to cheap hotels like motel 6 it was about average, but as a hotel in general, it was pretty bad

I had paid to expedia for 3 days well in advance. Because of the Sunday night market, taxi had to leave me 900 meters away from the hotel. By the time I found the hotel, and feeling exhausted, there was no room available. My name was already printed on a guest check in paper and they were expecting me. But after waiting 40 minutes I was told that there was no room and I will be staying at another hotel about 1 km away. And I walked there and checked in. I stayed there for a night and returned to Parasol Inn for the remaining 2 days. Hotel is quite basic. And there is no lift. But it is clean and well maintained. Location is very good. But rooms facing the road gets a lot of noise from the busy traffic. Hotel employees and manager are kind and attentive.

Amazing hotel! Hotel staff were super friendly, couldnt do enough for us and were very helpful. Hotel itself is in a perfect location with a beautiful restaurant located downstairs from it. The room was very spacious and the bed was very comfy. Would highly recommend to anyone

Unfortunately had ants in our room the first day. Staff sprayed immediately and we didn’t have issues the remainder of our stay. Enjoyed the family room for our group. Nothing fancy, but we didn’t need or want fancy. Breakfast was meh. Good drinks at the restaurant next door. Great location for the night market right out front.
