Barefoot Addo Elephant Lodge

The location is truly exceptional. The landscape is gorgeous, and the huts are amazing. They perfectly define glamping, combining the feeling of being immersed in nature, waking up to the sound of birds, with fantastic comfort and amenities. The staff are passionate about the place and genuinely committed to ensuring everyone has the best possible experience. We did the sunset safari and were lucky enough to see many giraffes within minutes. We then took part in a morning elephant walk, which was a truly magical experience, made even more special by the staff’s passion for and love of their animals. We learned so much, and have memories for life.

Tricky to get to by your own means with a non-SUV or 4x4 vehicle. Food was delicious, but could perhaps be more generous in quantity.

Nothing to complain at all

Upon arrival after traveling an hour on a dirt road, we were informed that they would be no gain drive due to the fact that their vehicle was not working and that the evening dinner fire was canceled due to weather. I did not appreciate this however, they were very accommodating and did cancel and refund my money. I wish they informed me this before I drove an hour on a dirt road. We had to drive back another hour not a pleasant experience, but the place did look beautiful.

Das beste Wohnen im Addo. So tolles Personal, so ein leckeres Essen und die Chalets sind urig echt und umwerfend toll. Wer Natur liebt ist hier richtig. So exklusiv und besonders. Der Elephant Walk war ein besonders Highlight unserer gesamten Reise durch Südafrika. Absolute Empfehlung.

The game drive & elephant walk was great value for money & Kendri was so good

It was a bit unlit to the chalet a torch was provided on the keys, & there were some solar motion sensor lights, but not enough, There was only one choice of eat course on the menu although they did help with my dietary requirements. The road to the property is a bone shaker

Schoon en sfeervol ingericht

25 km over onverharde weg om op plaats van bestemming te komen, helaas ook geen airco, alleen een fan. Wel echt een safari beleving

- super herzliches Personal - man fühlt sich sofort willkommen - schöne und heimelige Lobby - der Busch-Walk ist sehr empfehlenswert und war unser persönliches Highlight. Wir haben unglaublich viele Tiere von der Nähe gesehen (inkl. Giraffen) - am Morgen wird man von Vögeln geweckt

Ein wichtiger Punkt: Die Zimmer sind leider sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Hier besteht unserer Meinung nach dringender Renovierungsbedarf, um dem restlichen Standard der Lodge gerecht zu werden. Die Sauberkeit in den Zimmern läßt sehr zu wünsch übrig. -die Anfahrt ist nur mit einem geländegängigen SUV zu empfehlen. - das Essen war das schlechteste auf unserer ganzen Reise. 1 Tag Würstchengulasch, 2 Tag Hackfleisch mit Reis, 3 Tag Schweinekotlett war ganz ok
