Old traditional pub with very good food,we stayed BB breakfast was great.Manager very helpful staff very polite. close to Stansted airport.

Every thing was good

Food was very good including a nice breakfast. It was comfortable and the bed was okay. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Rooms are a little dated but to be fair the building is historic and quite rural, however the pub restaurant has character and charm.

My stay was unfortunately not a pleasant experience overall. I had booked this place specifically because of its convenient access to London Stansted Airport, as I needed to wake up early to drop my daughter for a flight. I had clearly mentioned that I would be arriving at 23:00 hrs, yet I received no email or message explaining how to access the property at that time. When I arrived, the phone number provided was not answered, leaving me stranded late at night with my teenage daughter in the car trying to figure out how to get in. We ended up scrambling for about an hour before eventually gaining access. We had already driven a long distance and were expecting to check in smoothly so we could get some rest before an early morning drop-off and a long journey ahead. Unfortunately, the lack of communication made the situation very stressful. To make matters worse, there was no internet access at the property and the cellular/5G signal in the area was very poor. I had to drive back to the main road just to get a network connection so I could contact Booking.com customer service and seek assistance. The following morning there was also quite a bit of noise from nearby school children, which made it difficult to rest. Additionally, the room had an unpleasant smell, although it did include the expected amenities and accessories. On a positive note, the staff I interacted with were hospitable. However, the lack of communication and the difficult arrival experience significantly affected my stay.

Lovely pub on a village green, close enough to stay for flights from Stansted Airport. Food was creative and tasty.@
