The Cricketers Arms

The location was great for our needs, convenient for venue for the wedding we were attending. The staff were friendly, on arrival it was very busy so had to hang about a bit to check and appeared only one staff seemed to be doing both serving at the bar. The breakfast was great and freshly cooked to order. There was no Wifi as such as it kept disconnecting so unable to do any work or watch movie on laptop.

The room was ok but a little outdated and could do with an upgrade, the mattress was uncomfortable was dipping in , could do with replacing it. As we were on the ground floor and there was a party right outside our going on, we needed to close the curtain as people walking by could see into the bedroom, which made the room very dark as the lights weren't very bright, also no curtain or blind in the bathroom window although frosted window but with lights on people passing by could see into. The shower didn't seem very powerful. The room was a bit on the pricey side.

The room smelt heavily of dog and the bathroom wasn’t clean, the service in the restaurant was poor (not enough staff) with starts and main courses missed and arriving after everyone had eaten.

Une chambre un peu vieillotte mais suffisante. Un accueil chaleureux de notre hôte. Repas et petit déjeuner parfaits! Bonne ambiance.
