"Férias em um lugar histórico"

10.0

A cozinha é nota 1000. A melhor possível. Os preços são excelentes

"Out of this world but in its modernity"

10.0

The approach is in itself a journey. 7 kms from Braga's center. A quite scenic "alley", no flags, no signs out of the "Hospedaria": you have to go to the door to be sure you are at the right place and ring the bell. A welcoming staff behind the big door. The rooms are not big : they used to be cells ! Beautifully thought, though, by prize winning architects. The next morning, beautiful fresh fruit salad at breakfast. Visiting the monastery itself was a magnificent experience. You can choose a 45' walk or the long one 1h30 in the 43ha garden. The ancient monastery is incredible too. Don't go if you are a night clubber : there is no bar. The nice lounge with a large tv is the only place where you can get the internet.

"Northern Portugal's best-kept secret"

10.0

We stayed here in December - admittedly not the high season - and we were the only guests in the hotel, which only enhanced the sense of being in a monastery. We had the time to explore the monastery and had a great dinner in the restaurant too.

"Overrated"

6.0

Good location and pretty hotel. However, the room was disappointing: zero privacy in the bathroom, separed from the bed through a glass wall with a curtain. Bad air conditioner. Wi-fi or 3/4G available only in common areas. Breakfast ok. PS: This place has religious routines, be aware of that.

"Very relaxing stay in a monastery full of history. Clean and comfortable roms."

10.0

We were practically the only one there and were amazed of the beauty of the cloister, the chuch, the monastery that we could discover at our own pace with the provided audioguide. We also took a long walk in the garden and the enclosed land. Once again We didnt meet anyone in our one hour walk. We came across a little pond, fountains, a chapel... Supper and breakfast were excellent and served by one of the nuns living there. We asked if we could join in theyre singing prayer, they accepted and it was part of this great experience. Everything we saw and experienced in Braga (and The rest of our trip) could not compare to our stay there. I wish you the luck to experiment this place.

"Quiet stay outside of Braga"

10.0

This hotel attached to the Monastery of St Martin of Tibães, the mother house of the Benedictine order in Brazil and Portugal is wonderful and a fabulous place to stay just outside of Braga. The modern decor and finishings have been extremely well thought out to preserve the original building and I was surprised to hear it is 6 years old... I was expecting less! The onsite restaurant caters for dinner and breakfast, with an extensive and delicious menu at that. As a guest of the hotel, you receive complementary access to the monastery, so make this your last tourist site before relaxing on the grounds for the afternoon/evening. Highly recommended and we'd definitely stay here again!

"Portugal's hidden jewel"

10.0

It's an amazing place, located in the Mosteiro de Tibaes an huge monastery that was the main house of the Benedictine order in Portugal. The old and the new blend together in a marvelous way. The rooms are excellent, brand new with a great bed and great shower, the wooden floor, the luminous decoration are really great. The food is excellent french cuisine type. From everywhere you can see the old part through glass walls. The stone seat by the window is a marvel.

"Delightful experience"

10.0

As two couples we stayed at the convent last night. Our only word of caution, don't trust google as we went via a scary back road---not the easy way. Once there, we loved it! Hiking the grounds was magical and a great chance to unwind. Our dinner was perfect---and breakfast was equally lovely. Going through the church and adjoining buildings was the highlight of our visit---by far the most beautiful we visited inPortugal. The staff was most gracious and our meals were prepared by 6 nuns from France. If quiet and somewhat remote work for you, this will probably your most memorable experience in Portugal. Rooms----you will find them first rate---basic but with great class!
