The hotel was just a short walk from the town and check-in staff were helpful. Shame about the extra charge for hotel parking.

The carpet in our room needed some attention. Didn't match the 5 star rating but wasn't as expensive as some hotels we've stayed in around the area.

Beautiful restored building with the warmest and friendliest of staff. We were given a tour and wonderful introduction to our room with thoughtful treats. The bedroom a great size as was the bathroom with fabulous toiletries.Decorated for the era of the building. We had breakfast one morning with was tasty. It was lovely to return and have drink in the drawing room with a fire. It was great to meet some other couples and have a chat. Very close to the city, only 5 mins walk and many sights close by.

Parking can be tight, though we had no issues

We were made to feel at home as soon as we arrived. We had the Zen room which had a separate entrance with a view of the garden. Very peaceful except for the seagulls!

The only small problem I had was drying my hair as I could not sit at the dressing table and see into the mirror.

Where do I start , Location and surrounding area is absolutely beautiful. Rear private garden with beautiful views. Walking distance to bath within 5 minutes over the canal. The rooms are all unique and expertly themed. We stayed in the Chinese room. Large comfy room with bed and separate tv seating area.

Everything was excellent. Can’t fault anything
