Really nice stay

The fact that they cancelled 1 of the 5 rooms I had booked the day before we were due to arrive. Had to find a last minute reservation at a nearby inn which was dearer and no breakfast. Tried to get in touch with the Potters Arms by messaging them and telephoning them but got no answer. I think they should recompense the extra money we had to pay out through no fault of ours. These rooms had been booked for weeks

Evening meal was good

Toilet not cleaned properly, no hot water in bathroom washbasin, no door on shower cubicle, dirty carpets and musty smell in room, absolutely filthy stair carpet, dog in adjacent room which barked until 2am, frosty reception from staff when I came down for breakfast so I left without ordering.

Breakfast was lovely, room was quirky and enjoyable. Bar was pleasant with a good selection of drinks. Free parking as well.

It was very warm, not their fault. Perhaps a floor standing fan would be nice.

The bedroom was quite cold. It would have been nice to have a toilet lid, a shower curtain and a hook on the bathroom door to lock it

Good location

Only cooked breakfast available, no cereals, yogurts, etc. Room needed updating. No room service, re replacing cups, loo paper, etc. Had to ring staff to open door to go into pub for breakfast every morning.

The staff were fantastic.

There could be a better range of vegetarian dishes, when you consider, you can use Mushrooms, Aubergines, mixed peppers or beans with their excellant Nepalese dishes.

Breakfast

A great little find, just in the location we needed to be. The Nepalese menu evening meal was absolutely outstanding and English breakfast the next morning was very hearty. Staff were lovely, very obliging.

The shower was a tight fit, but it didn't spoil our stay
