"Terrible overnight stay - avoid!"

2.0

The room was warm. The bedding and towels looked clean.

Being kept awake until 1am with loud music & people chatting and swearing loudly below the room. I had to go down the bar & ask for the music to be turned down. I think it was the landlord who told me it was his 28th birthday & they were celebrating. The room was very pokey and the mirror had fallen off the wall. It was down a steep step. The bathroom also down a steep step, the light fixture was falling off the ceiling & the shower cubicle was very small. We came down for breakfast and the pub was in darkness, no table setting for breakfast. There were glasses and bottles out on the tables from the night before. I had to ring the landlord on his mobile to make him aware we wanted our breakfast. It was the land lord who met us in the pub & he apologised about the noise & said he understood. I don’t believe he did understand at all. They did not have any cereal or fresh fruit or fruit juice. They only had a cooked breakfast. I opted for poached eggs on toast. There were green bits in the margarine. I didn’t bother to complain & left the toast. I will not be visiting again!

"Le lieu a besoin d’être modernisé et les photos ne sont pas vraiment représentatives"

4.0

Le petit déjeuner était correct avec un bon choix Le personnel très sympathique

Les odeurs de la cuisine dans la chambre Le bruit du bar qui est continué jusqu’à 1h du matin La salle de bain qui était très vieille et ne donnait pas l’impression d’être très propre

"Great food but accommodation needs investment and upgrading"

4.0

Excellent Nepalese dishes. Friendly staff.

Untidy and unappealing entrance to the accommodation. Dirty and mularkey staircase. Poor room ( needs repair and maintenance and upgrading:- plastering and decorating, new carpet, better quality mattresses and linen, etc) Poor ensuite ( needs upgrading, shower barely functions ). Room very disappointing so glad we had only booked 1 night!!

"Good"

6.0

Great location in a quiet village. Staff were friendly and good good. Room was the suite and although quite dated was clean and comfortable. Bathroom desperately needs refurbishment with cracks in sink and vinyl flooring wearing thin,1990's style. Carpets in corridors and room grubby and in need of a clean but bedding and rest of room clean enough for a good stay. We were the only room occupied and going down to breakfast at 9am we found no staff and the restaurant and bar areas locked. Finally a couple of members of staff turned up at 920am so luckily we did not have to be somewhere otherwise we would not have had time to eat. All in all a pleasant stay but if you are looking for 'lovely' this is not for you. It will remain 'ok' until they up their game. Could be amazing with some TLC.

"Good location but a bit tired"

6.0

Property is in a fairly quiet location with views overlooking the village green. On site parking is good and free Wi-Fi should you need it. The tea & coffee selection in the room was very good and included oat milk sachets for those who cannot have cows milk. The biscuit selection was also of good quality. The bed was clean as was the towels and there are a few washing toiletries should you forget your own.

It’s an old building which means creaky flooring, there are 4 rooms available that are in close proximity to each other so expect to hear other guests, the walls between each appear thin so you can hear your neighbours talking. The room we stayed in requires a lot of refurbishment but of course this comes at a cost so it may take a while for the owners to earn enough profit to start reinvesting.
