Arriving ,good parking, looked modern and inviting. We were led up steep narrow stairs extreme low head height in places to our room . Comfortable beds but could do with a better cleaner divan base was grubby. All amenities provided. Evening Meals were fairly expensive including children’s meals , breakfast suppled with room but only sparse choice on menu fine if you wanted cooked breakfast . Only there for one night but unluckily picked Quiz night brilliant for locals but as a family of four (2 young children )after a long journey wanting sleep 10-00pm plus the microphone quiz was very loud under our room . Notice should be given on booking of this event happening . Then choice could be made . Departure time given as 11-00am found two kitchen staff manning the pub with no knowledge of how to check us out . Not very professionally ran business. Wouldn’t return , but good place for local residents

We would stay again, food excellent, bed comfortable with a great fan. The pub could do with a tidy, bin bags near the bar and one of the tables being used an office isnt a great look. The room was functional, slightly tired.

Breakfast eggs Royale superb!

Excellent location, we have a dog and there were plenty of walks from the door. Staff were friendly. Clean room and bedding and excellent wi-fi. Good hot shower, windows that opened onto lovely view of the common.

Poor communication, little information in the room, just wi-fi code. It was unclear when and where breakfast was served and difficult to gain access as doors were locked and no signage. Breakfast was OK but we preferred to go to a local cafe after one breakfast. Main issue was the 'en-suite'; cracked sink, broken toilet lid and doors that didn't quite meet so little privacy. Access to room was tired.
