Nice outdoor area

The bar area and room were cold on arrival, so much so the barman was wearing an overcoat. No towels in bathroom. Towels in wardrobe were stained. Booking.com needs to update the detail,as these are new ‘enthusiastic’ owners, and is different to advertised.

"Lovely setting but needs updating"

3.0

Nice setting , good wi-Fi

Noisy sleeping area, creaking flooring, no sound proofing from other rooms. Cracked tiles and wash basin, need replacing. No bulb in bedside light, only one towel. No instructions on safety from staff or where to have breakfast or timings on arrival. Arranged 7.45 breakfast but no staff around by 8.00

"Extremely disappointing"

3.0

The room was clean and there were nice toiletries.

We have stayed here before so knew what to expect in terms of the room. However, the pub is now under new management and this was our first, and last, stay. We were told that as it was the Easter weekend, breakfast would be from 8.30, I said we would be down about 9.00am. When we let ourselves into the pub, it was in darkness and had obviously not been cleaned from the previous night. No table was set for breakfast and eventually a young man appeared who said he would be preparing our breakfast. It took him some time to find a menu and I ordered coffee while we made our choice. Ten minutes later, he appeared again and I said we had made our choice of food. He apologised for the lack of coffee but the machine had to warm up. I told him what we wanted to eat and he asked if we would like baked beans; I said that baked beans were not on the menu. He was sure they were and came over to look - they weren't!! He then offered us hash browns which were also NOT on the menu. He returned to check our order and I helped fill in the missing items on his paper list. He brought our coffee and left. When our food was delivered, we were the only people having breakfast, we had been sitting waiting for 30 minutes. Nothing was hot, the toast had not seen a toaster and even the fried egg was luke warm!! The following morning was little better. We arrived at 9.30, there was a party of 4 eating cooked breakfast. Again, no table set, no one to be found behind the bar and when I knocked on the kitchen door - still no one, so I opened the door to make my presence felt. I think you probably get the picture, so I won't continue with anymore detail!! But, I must add that we ordered a bacon sandwich and beans, bacon and toast - it took over 20 minutes to arrive at our table!
