Drayton Manor Hotel

Location was great as we were at a dance como in the resort.

Room for the price felt dated, lacked a deep clean, corridor corners etx were visibly full of dust. The room also had visible dust in corners. We have a dust allergy amd woke up feeling stuffy.

Rooms are very small when you are travelling with a child no room for moving around in the room, TV could only get basic channel 3 to work. Corridors noisy, no carpark room on the hotel itself.

We arrived at the hotel in the evening and was greeted by a lovely lady on reception. She was very friendly and welcoming, so the stay was off to a good start. We went up to our room, but unfortunately encountered an issue. Somehow, the room had exposed electrical wiring and yet was still signed off for guest occupancy. A bit of a dangerous hazard to say the least. We spoke to the same lady on reception, who advised that there was no one available to fix the issue, so provided us with another room opposite ours. Whilst we were happy that the room was swapped without any fuss, this meant that we had to go back up and move all out stuff from our nice, cool room, to a much hotter and stuffy room. The room itself was mostly clean, but the bathroom floor was pretty dirty and had black footprints and grime on the tiles. It looked liked all it needed was a good steam mop and it would be looking nice again, but the floor didn't appear to have been cleaned for a very long time. A lot of the the wood in the room was scratched and damaged, so could do with a refurb. There was also a lack of easily accessible plug sockets near the bed. We had dinner and drinks in the restaurant, which was very nice. Not cheap, but certainly not too overpriced either. Again, the staff were all very friendly and polite. Breakfast the next morning was again very nice and the food all seemed to be of good quality. It wasn't too busy either, which was nice. Overall, it was a mixed bag. Some elements of the stay were great, some were shocking. Exposed electrical wiring shouldn't be present at any hotel, let alone a premium 4* hotel. Hopefully they will listen to the feedback and make improvements, so we can consider a visit again in the future with a more positive review.
