Mounthaven Guest House

The hosts were warm, friendly and welcoming - nothing was too much trouble. Very knowledgeable about the area eg where to visit, things to do, places to eat etc. Breakfast was delicious. Fantastic views over Dartmouth and a gorgeous garden in the sunshine. It was only a ten minute walk to the town - exactly the right distance. The room was spotless and had everything we needed. Also space to park the car.

The bed was comfy but when we turned over in our sleep the mattress felt a bit like a trampoline.

there could be an improvement in the ensuite as there was no were to put toiletries or towels plus the shelf over the wash basin was not in a suitable place

Breakfast was very good and prepared as requested with homegrown ingredients. Near to the town although the steep hill is a challenge!

The view from our room was amazing, perfect to sit and watch the whole town and beyond. Cooked breakfast was delicious and prepared to order. Sean and Rose great hosts.

The welcome and information supplied was excellent. The breakfast menu was extensive and the food delicious. Our room was lovely - both clean and very comfortable, with fantastic views of Dartmouth. The location was ideal - we even managed the steep hill down to town and back up.

The only issue was the lack of stand up shower facility. We're a bit too creaky to cope with a handheld shower head while kneeling down!

The view from our room reflected the picture above - stunning. Room overall excellent. Hosts friendly pleasant and absolutely on top of their role. Breakfast spot on. Not at all surprised their reviews are so good. Beautiful stay in a marvellous resort. Thanks.

Walk down into town centre - easy downhill stroll 10 mins max. Walk back good for the heart but can challenge elderly legs. Solution an excellent local bus service number 90 from outside the old railway station. Runs hourly dismount at the top of Mount Boone then all down hill.

Bed small. Toast cold. Room quite small. Was listed as 5 star but not what we would expect from this rating which made aspects disappointing.

Fantastic stay, a soon as we got there we were welcomed with refreshments. Breakfast was top notch and Shaun very kindly did one a little earlier for my partner who was taking part in the regatta. The views are amazing and they have a lovely terrace and garden. It wasn't far to walk into the center and very pretty using the steps. We were made to feel very welcome and wouldn't hesitate to stay again, thank you Shaun and Rosemary.
