Very convenient for my work. An excellent Carvery. Nice room.

The room was spacious and basic. We reserved in advance by email a table to eat as we knew we would arrive in the evening and wanted to make sure we could eat. We arrived to find there was no table for us despite the fact we were staying and had pre booked. We had no option but to sit outside (no one else was outside as it was too cold). The food was good but the service was terrible. We received our starters one at a time - we watched each other eat as they would get cold. We had no cutlery and went and found it ourselves. My nachos arrived with no cheese, salsa or guacamole - all listed on the menu. We asked to speak to manager and it took 20 minutes for him to come and see us. The mains arrived when I hadn’t even quite finished my starter. Very poor. If you would like a place to eat and stay I would suggest there are better choices in the area. After a 6 hour drive this was very frustrating and we were cold outside!

Rooms not as advertised and very unclean. Completely different from online photographs. Carpet covered in stains, mattresses old and very thin; unsuitable to sit on, let alone sleep. Hairs all over the room (on the dressing table, on the bed, etc). Evidence of mould marks on pillow case. Furniture worn and dated. Completely unsatisfied and most upset when we arrived to see that the hotel was not as advertised. Spoke to manager who seemed unfazed and unsurprised at our displeasure, and our refusal to stay. Full refund offered without argument, felt as though staff had already been briefed up to get the manager as soon as we had asked, and as though they expected the complaint.

Would recommend this B & B. We had food in the evening in the restaurant. It was really nice and highly recommend. However for me, the breakfast was the best I have tasted in a long time. Rooms could do with a little TLC but they were perfectly fine for our stay. Staff was very friendly. Overall I would stay again with my family.

Friendly welcome due to COVID restrictions I had evening food in my room and breakfast in restaurant which was very good

It was during lockdown and the staff were excellent and the food was excellent too and great value for money

Very clean room and very enthusiastic staff. Just found the bar too crowded on arrival regards face masks & social distancing

Considering the rooms are above a pub, it was fairly quiet. Did not like the outside stairs up to the rooms.
