Very comfortable bed and dinner was very good.

Breakfast was supposed to be from 7.30 but I couldn't get into the breakfast area until after 8.00 and didn't eat until nearly 8.45. This was particularly galling as I wanted to eat promptly as I was due to have a lunch at midday. Not ideal.

The staff are really friendly and helpful. The room is freshly decorated with crisp bedding and a lovely view of the green. We were in room 5, just by the seating area, so don’t go to bed before closing.

There isn’t anything to dislike really. I could see that the pub is currently going through a re-dec, so I’m sure the place will be well presented on completion.

Wow, what can I say, so much I could reference. I'm not one to generally review good or bad but I have to with this place to warn others. This place is absolutely awful. It appears not to be very busy, I completely understand why. The rating on here put me off but I thought I would make my own opinion up. I have and it's too high. If I could give zero I would. The whole experience was dreadful. The room was very basic, poor quality, lights broken, bedstead broken in, old. The towels smelt of fried food and the room generally smelt as if it hadn't been aired. It was all very tired and had dirty carpets throughout and the communal areas. The one member of staff I met was unhelpful, disinterested in helping and generally presented as a really dislikeable host/person, I'd describe him as very smarmy and false. What was also odd was it was really noisy but there was hardly anyone else there! Hall and Woodhouse need to sort this out or bin this place off. I like other properties of theirs and have had a good experience before but whoever is running this place has it so wrong, they are in the wrong industry. The bed was ok and comfyish but that is the only positive I can give. I will definitely not be back. It is akin to a bail hostel, if I had been told it had just been used as illegal migrant accommodation I would believe it. Avoid this at all costs there are plenty of other places in the area.
